Rabies Clinic

May 10th 2008 from 8 am. to 10 a.m. at Barton's Southern States on Rt. 13 north in Seaford. We will have Rabies and Distemper/parvo for cats/kittens, Dogs/puppies. All vaccines are $10 each. All dogs must be on proper leashes with properly fitted collars. All cats must be in carriers. It is your responsibility to keep control of your pets at all times. There is a $3 surcharge for Rabies that goes to the state for a low cost spay/neuter fund which is included in the $10 fee. Everything else goes to both WAR and SCAA to help continue the work we do. Come on out and get your pet protected and help homeless animals at the same time.

ADOPTION FAIR

It is that time of year again. March 15th will kick off our first adoption fair of the year. We will be at Barton's Southern States from 10 - 2. We have lots of dogs/pups and Cats available for adoption. Your new family member may be there looking for you.

FOSTERS NEEDED

We are in need of foster families for our homeless pets. The numbers of unwanted pets is on the rise. If you have room in your home and heart to help a homeless pet please contact us at starjazzmo@aol.com We are continuously full and the calls and emails for help keep coming in. There is a foster agreement you would need to sign. We provide the food, vaccines and any other medical. You provide the home and love. There is no better feeling than knowing you helped saved a life. Find out for yourself by fostering a pet.

BEDS FOR BABIES

Please consider donating a bed, since they can't sleep in ours lets give them one of their own. All donations are tax deductible. It is a wonderful gift to give to a homeless pet. They will be very grateful to have something soft to call their own. We are in need of 12 beds at this time. Help us help them.

We use Patented Kuranda Dog Beds because they are durable, chew proof and easy to clean. If you would like to donate a bed to us, click here.

Our dogs love to sleep on Kuranda beds, but we do not have enough for everyone. If you would like to donate a bed for another shelter dog at discounted price, please click here.

RALLY TO RESCUE AMBASSADOR'S

AS OF SEPTEMBER 2005 WE WERE CHOSEN BY PURINA PRO PLAN TO BE ONE OF THEIR RALLY TO RESCUE AMBASSADORS. TOGETHER WE HOPE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD OF RESCUE. THEY SUPPORT US WITH WAYS TO RAISE FUNDS FOR OUR RESCUE. NOW ON SALE WE HAVE MATCHING WRISTBANDS AND COLLARS FOR A $5 DONATION. YOU CAN PURCHASE THEM AT ANY OF OUR EVENTS OR GO TO THEIR HOME SITE.

Who We Are

We are a rescue and adoption organization that has been incorporated since 2003. Since then we have rescued and adopted out more than 700 dogs/puppies. We have also rescued 100+ cats and kittens. Helped low income families with emergency medical and low cost spay/neuter of cats. The rescue also took in a pot belly pig, saved a injured buzzard, and a few horses as well. Our goal is mainly to rescue dogs/puppies, complete all necessary medical, including vaccines, bloodwork, spay/neuter if age appropriate, heartworm preventative and flea preventative. We are limited in the cat area since we don not have a shelter at this time for them however we help with Cats/Kittens in emergency situations. On occassion we can also help with low cost spay/neuter of cats for low income families in Sussex County. We help whatever animal is in need when we are able to do so. Adopting a friend

If you are interesting in adopting one of our pets there is an application that will need to be completed. Please go to www.whimsicalanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org and complete an online pre adoption form. Vet reference is NECESSARY for anyone out of state. Vet reference and/or home inspection is required for anyone in the state of Delaware. Once approved there is a contract to sign. All of our dogs/cats are vet checked upon being received into our rescue. All are given any vaccines needed and bloodwork done to check for any diseases. Then they are treated with flea/tick prevention, and heartworm prevention. If they are old enough they are then spay/neutered. All under 6 months of age require a $75 spay/neuter deposit. Once you have the pet altered by age of 6 months and send us the proof the deposit will be returned to you. This is a requirement of our Contract that you will need to sign at the time of adoption. Horses are also given any vaccines needed, farrier work done and dental as well. Then they are worked with to determine temperment and riding ability.
