Who We Are
The Delaware Humane Association (DHA), founded in 1957, is a private, non-profit "no-kill" animal shelter and humane organization whose mission is to temporarily house homeless animals, reduce pet overpopulation, prevent cruelty, relieve the suffering of animals, and educate the public about animal and humane issues.
DHA provides sheltering and adoption services, low-cost spay-neuter surgeries, monthly low-cost wellness clinics, dog obedience classes, dog licensing (for Delaware residents), pet-assisted therapy, and humane education programs to residents.
DHA relies on community support through volunteer activities, monetary donation and donations of goods and services to continue its work. Out of state adoptors are welcome!
"Our vision is that one day every animal will have a safe and secure environment."
