WE NEED GOOD QUALITY HOMES!!!!!

PETS WE HAVE AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION

ö

Be a hero to a rescued animal.  Everybody needs a warm, safe loving home and the pets of our communities are no exception.  Please consider adopting an adult cat or dog.  Over 85% of adult animals that are in our shelters and pounds are there because people moved and didn’t take their pets with them NOT because of behavior problems. When you adopt an adult animal you are truly being a hero and saving a life!!!!

öALTER YOUR PET!!!!!  õ

Thousands of cats and dogs are euthanized each and every WEEK!  Spay or neuter your pet – Even one litter of kittens is too many.  So often we hear, "but I can find them all good homes".  Every kitten you place from your 'at home litter' means that one shelter animal desperately looking for a home is put to sleep because the person who would have adopted them took your house litter baby instead.  There are more kittens than we can handle!  Don’t add to the problem! Be a responsible pet owner and alter your pet.

ø WINTER WARNING!!!!  ÷

Antifreeze is POISON to animals. .  If your cats MUST be outdoors, please don't allow them to wander unattended near driveways, roads, garages, or any other places where they could come into contact with antifreeze. And be especially sure to monitor those kitties for any strange behavior. If you think your pet may have injested antifreeze, take them to a vet immediately.

WHO WE ARE

Cause For Paws is a small rescue group serving the towns of Durham & Middlefield in Connecticut. We currently trap - alter - vaccinate and release adult feral cats in Durham and Middlefield. Using an in-home volunteer Foster Care system we test, treat and socialize all kittens brought in from cat colonies and then place these kittens in new permanent homes. Because we take these kitties into our homes and our focus is on the feral and strays from the towns of Durham and Middlefield, we do not have the capacity to take in adult cats.

Adopting a New Family Member

Our available kitties have been vet checked and have had their initial set of shots. There is a donation fee involved. Please contact the foster home listed directly for more information. All donations go directly to the care of the animals. All adopters are required to sign an adoption agreement that requires all animals to be spayed or neutered within 6 months of adoption. Drop us a line if you would like additional information!

How We Work!

Because we work as a foster care system in private homes - we do not have an actual shelter - We do NOT take in Adult Cats. We require a reference from a licensed Veterinarian. Please call for an appointment details and directions.
