The Ferret Association of Connecticut, Inc. (FACT) is a non-profit, humane and educational 501(c)3 charitable organization founded in January, 1991. FACT is dedicated to helping ferret owners, caretakers, and most importantly, the ferrets themselves. Our belief that an educated, informed owner is better able to care for their pets, is supported by our activities and the information we strive to provide.
Please visit FACT's website for complete details about our policies, practices and for extensive information on ferret behavior, health issues, how to care for a ferret, FACT's shelter services, our support programs, as well as ways to help further FACT's mission to support ferrets and their owners.
FACT operates one of the oldest and largest shelters dedicated to ferrets. Ferrets are taken in from individuals who can no longer care for their pets, for whatever reason, as well as from public and private humane societies and other shelters who are unfamiliar with ferrets or who are not equipped to house and care for them.
Please note: FACT will not "ship" ferrets! As much as we know they all are in need of a good home, if you cannot come to FACT for an in-person interview, we cannot adopt to you. If you live too far to adopt from us, there are other options! Please consider adopting from a ferret shelter more local to you; or, you can read more about FACT's foster ferret program - where you can elect to become a "grandparent" to one of our elderly or special needs ferrets.
Visits to FACT are by appointment only. We cannot maintain regular business hours.
