The ADOPTION season is quickly approaching. Finding homes for our great, adoptable pets tops our furever Wish List. Go to http://www.petfinder.com/petpromise for more information about the Pet Promise Certificate!
Pets as gifts have always been a topic of controversy. Some studies show that pets given as gifts stay in their homes LONGER than those acquired in other ways. Yet there is concern that the recipient be prepared for all the responsibilities that come with adding a pet to their family and that the holidays might be too hectic a time to introduce a new pet into the household. Whatever your take on pets as gifts, the PET PROMISE PROGRAM is a great solution.
The PET PROMISE CERTIFICATE allows the gift-giver to present a certificate promising the recipient the chance to adopt a pet. The gift-giver can wrap some necessary pet-care items such as a collar and leash or a carrier and give these with the PET PROMISE CERTIFICATE.
If we can encourage anyone thinking of adding a pet to their family as a holiday gift to think adoption - and stay out of the puppy-mill supplied pet stores - that will be a real gift to the homeless pets. So pass this tip along and encourage folks to give the gift of a PET PROMISE CERTIFICATE
One By One.... unknown author
One by one, they pass my cage. Too old, too worn, too broken , no way. Way past his time, he can't run and play. Then they shake their heads slowly and go on their way. A little old man, arthritic and sore. It seems I am not wannted anymore. I once had a home, I once had a bed, a place that was warm, and where I was fed. Now my muzzle is grey, and my eyes slowly fail. Who wants a dog so old and frail? My family decided I didn't belong, I got in their way, my attitude was wrong. Whatever excuse they made in their head, can't justify how they left me for dead. Now I sit in this cage, where day after day, the younger ones get adopted away. When I had almost come to the end of my rope, you saw my face and I finally had hope. You saw through the gray, and the legs bent with age, and I felt I still had life beyond this cage. You took me home, gave me food and a bed, and shared your own pillow with my poor tired head. We snuggle and play, and you talk to me low, you love me so dearly, you want me to know. I may have lived most of my life with another, but you outshine them with a love so much stronger. And I promise to return all the love I can give, to you, my dear person, as long as I live. I may be with you a week or for years. We will share many smiles, you will no doubt shed tears. And when the time comes that God deems I must leave, I know you will cry, and your heart, it will grieve, and when I arrive at the Bridge, all brand new, my thoughts and my heart will still be with you. And I will brag to all who will hear, of the person who made my last days so dear......
Who We Are
We are a group of dedicated rescue volunteers. Our mission is to find furever homes for wonderful dogs and cats. All of our rescue pets are home fostered in special homes where they can be evaluated and medically checked put before the search for their furever home can begin. We match the right dog to the right home. It is not first come first served. Completing an application for adoption does not guarantee that you will be allowed to adopt one of our rescue pets. We look for the best home. Please be patient with us. This process can take a few weeks from app to adoption. We will respond to each inquiry within 24 hours.
Adopting a friend
All of our rescue pets are fully vetted as age appropriate. If old enough they will be spayed and neutered before going to their new homes. We will require an adoption application, a vet check and a home visit. There is an adoiption fee for each adotpion. This varies on age and needs of the pet, but will range from $250 to $375 for a fully vetted, spayed/neutered adult.

We do not have a shelter. All of our adoptable pets are in loving, foster homes. Appointments are at mutual convenience between the adopters and the foster families.
