Save Me A Spot! Dog Rescue is the rescue part of The Good Dog Spot! in Bloomfield, Connecticut. Our mission is to foster and find homes for adult dogs who will make good family pets. In doing so, we hope to save the lives of a few dogs that would otherwise be homeless. We are a small rescue so we can keep good tabs on our mission and our placements. The dogs are fostered in homes and at The Good Dog Spot's dog day care and boarding facility. All dogs are health and temperament tested and placed in homes that meet their individual needs. We also ocassionally foster dogs for other organizations. The founding members of Save Me A Spot! Dog rescue have been in the field for 20 and 30 years, respectively, with backrounds that include pet training, shelter management and wildlife rehab, as well as breed rescue.
Adopting a friend
Our goal is to make a good match between dog and owner. After viewing a dog you're interested in, please email us. We will send you an application form via email. We will contact you when we receive it back from you, filled out.
We will call your references and then call you to do a phone interview. If you and the dog seem like a good match, we will schedule a face-to-face visit where we can meet you and you can meet the dog. We may also want to do a home visit before placing the dog.
Please understand that it is our job to find the best home for each dog and therefore, the adoption process can take from one to two weeks.
