The Chi Society of Ct is a totally volunteer rescue network. We do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they live in our foster homes until they can be placed in suitable,caring permanent homes. We also provide sanctuary for a small number of dogs, who, through no fault of their own, have been deemed unadoptable and would have otherwise been euthanized.
We provide food, shelter, medical care, grooming, exercise and training as needed for all of our dogs.
Our adoption fees currently range from $200-$350, depending on the dog. These fees are the sole means of support and medical treatment for all the dogs in our care. An application for adoption can be found on our website, www.thechisociety.org, or we can send you one by email, just let us know!

Adopting a friend
Please keep in mind that all of our dogs have come to us because they either got lost, were abandoned, surrendered, neglected or abused and have been through some scary and confusing times in their lives. They need an adjustment period to be the very best they can be. We ask that anyone who adopts a dog from us commits to give the dog AT LEAST 2 weeks to acclimate to its new surroundings. During this transition time, it is not unusual for dogs to nip, snap or bark or have "accidents" in the house, because they are nervous, confused or sometimes scared. Rescued dogs can make fabulous, loyal and loving pets if you give them the four things they need most...time, patience, affection and understanding.
We expect our dogs to be treated as family members in their permanent homes and we do not adopt out dogs to people who intend on leaving the dog outside to sleep or tied up in a backyard.
No one will ever love you like the dog that you rescue! These dogs possess only one fault:
They place all their trust and love in you!
