News
We are new to petfinder but definitely not new to the rescue world. Our volunteers have been helping place homeless dogs and cats for over 7 years. Having now joined on with petfinder is an exciting step for us but even more exciting for the wonderful dogs and cats we are helping to find loving homes.
Who We Are
We are an all volunteer based organization. We are an all breed rescue group that specializes in rehoming unwanted, abandoned and homeless pups.
We will help find loving homes for pups surrendered by owners who can no longer keep/care for the them appropriately, and from animal shelters as strays or owner surrenders (all upon temperament test). WE DO NOT HAVE A PHYSICAL SHELTER, our organization helps other organizations/rescues find loving homes for their pups. Also, there are many wonderful dogs/pups that are in high-kill shelters and we have been asked to help find loving homes for these babies, and of course we will help. Please keep in mind most are rescues, which means our vet has estimated their age, size when full grown and breed. "It does not matter where the dog/pup is from, it matters where they spend the rest of their lives".
We hope to educate others that shelter pups have so much to offer and so much life and love to give.
All pups offered for adoption have been vaccinated, spayed/neutered, have been given a clean bill of health by a licensed vet, and all have been temperament tested to ensure they will make great pets.
Adopting a friend
If you are interested in one of our available pups please email us for an adoption application. We do not adopt out on a first come basis, we review all the applications and choose the family we feel would be the best fit for the pup. The adoption donation is $375 which helps cover a portion of the vetting expenses which include: spay/neuter, all vaccines, worming and transportation to the New England area.
Testimonies from Adoptive Families
"Our adoption of Arthur, who is a Labrador Spaniel mix was such an easy, straight forward process, from the advert on PetFinder by New Leash on Life Adoptions to the transport company who made sure Arthur made his way safely and happily from Arkansas to Connecticut. We would have no hesistation in applying for another rescue dog from New Leash on Life Adoptions so as to save any other little pups from a less than satisfactory life.
Between Denise and Diane we have a fantastic experience and would highly recommend them!"
Denise, About 3 weeks ago, our family received a wonderful pup through your organization. Clark came to us from Arkansas. He was cared for by a foster Mom we consider his angel. She didn’t have him for long but her devotion, love and training was obvious once we got Clark. He was 4 months old when we got him. He was virtually almost fully housebroken. His temperament is beautiful. He is a kind dog, who is eager to please. Clark’s foster Mom and I had several conversations before the adoption went through. I appreciated her thoroughness in interviewing me as a potential adopter. I appreciated her honesty in telling me that Clark was going to be a “big boy” and needed the right home. She shared pictures and stories and in the end tears as she sent him on his way to Connecticut. The transport team was AMAZING. Communication was excellent. When I arrived at the pick up spot I was amazed to see some 50 other people also picking pups up! They arrived on time and handed me a beautiful dog who was clean and happy! They were so organized, they provided all the paperwork and information and the process went so smoothly! New Leash on Life is a wonderful organization. I have nothing but positive things to say about every aspect of the process! Michele Mandell (Hamden, CT)
Good morning Denise,
I hope you hear these words often…THANK YOU for all the hard work you and your organization do in placing rescued animals in loving homes.
I must admit, when I saw my “Jack” (then known as “Ollie”) on PetFinder.com I was nervous about adopting a rescued shelter puppy. I was expecting him to by shy and withdrawn, much to my surprise he is sociable, happy and very silly. He had no trouble bonding with our two Corgi females and five cats that are already family members. This has proven to me that the foster homes that you work closely with work hard at properly socializing these animals so that they make wonderful life long companions and friends to the new family they will join.
