The Waterbury Animal Control provides numerous services to the community, including the investigation of complaints regarding animals. Animal Control is responsible for investigating animal cruelty cases, reports of rabid animals, and animal bites. The Dog Pound houses stray dogs. Owners of lost pets are encouraged to come in person to look for their lost pet and to file a lost report as soon as their pet is discovered missing. If you see an animal on our Web site that may belong to you, please contact our staff as soon as possible during business hours at (203) 574-6909. After the State mandated hold period of 7 days is over, unclaimed adoptable animals are made available to find a good home.
Donations to Animal Control
Monetary donations to Animal Control are greatly appreciated! Donations help maintain our shelter, feed the animals and help with medical expenses for injured animals. We are always in need of leashes, dog collars and treats as well. Those items can be dropped off at the Dog Pound during normal business hours.
