This event is located at Best Friends Kennel, 60 Harris Road in Avon CT,. Best Friends is not associated with NECBRR therefore we ask that you not call them and inquire about dogs for adoption. Who We Are
New England Chesapeake Bay Retriever Rescue (NECBRR) is a NOT FOR PROFIT organization, established to provide aide for Chesapeake Bay Retrievers in need. NECBRR is comprised of loyal, experienced Chessie owners, who volunteer their time, money and rescources to care for each and every dog we work with. Dogs in the Care of NECBRR, will be througly evaluated and placed in homes that have met the qualifications we have established for each dog.
NECBRR also works VERY closely with other Chesapeake Bay Retriever Rescue groups and often acts as a referral source to potential adopters as well as people looking to surrender a Chesapeake to us.
Adopting a friend
We have a through adoption process consisting of the following.
Step 1: Email us for one of our adoption applications, complete it and return it to us..
Step 2: A home visit and evaluation will be set up by one of our volunteers and will be conducted in your home.
Step 3: A dog is identified, matching your criteria and a time can be arranged to meet the dog at the foster home.
Step4: An adoption contract is filled out, an adoption fee is required, and you are the proud new owner of your very own Chesapeake!

Since we operate on a volunteer basis, there are no set visiting hours. All appointments will need to be scheduled via email.
