Who We Are
We are an Animal Control facility, so along with adoptions; we handle countless calls,
complaints and injured wildlife. It is always best to call ahead for an appointment. Phoning
in the afternoon is prime, as in the morning, we are very busy tending to our flock,
complaints and kennels. We are often out on the road handling calls and animal control
duties. So if you just show up, you may find us out. :( As a municipal, we are open Monday
through Friday 12-5PM. We work very hard to accommodate your schedule when we can. Staying
late, popping in on weekends when possible, etc., in the hope of finding you that wagging
tail to enhance your home. So do give a call or a request by email, so we can arrange a meet and greet.

Adopting a friend
We do have an application process. It is not first come, first serve, but rather the best
match. Our fees are five dollars for a fixed furkid, fifty for one unaltered, that
included's a State of CT voucher towards spay/neuter and two free shots, at participating
vets. We also require the priceless payment of forever undying love. However, if it is not a
match, we will take the furkid right back ... within a reasonable time. We do get countless
applications, and can not always return application calls/inquiries in a timely fashion due
to our other duties, and inability to have volunteers to assist with our many duties. We
only have a staff of 3 ... So if you don't get a hold of us by phone. Do email. We do not
have the Internet at work, but do return all inquiries by email, generally every night or
early morning.

Sadie
Sadie is a happy ending we were over joyed to have happen. Sadie came to us pregant and desperately looking for her owners. Owners that had dumped her on the busiest street in Wallingford (RT5) and drove away. Sadie had three healthy beautiful puppies who were all adopted before they reached 10 wks. Unforunately this left Sadie who had been a wonderful mom, alone :(. We desperate wanted the right home for this wonderful girl. Then we met Natalie who was interested in another dog that was no longer available but we knew who would be perfect for her... SADIE! Natalie adopted her that Friday and that was in Oct. 2007. We still receive pictures and visits from them and love how wonderful Sadie's life has turned out. Here are some photos Natalie has sent us to share!
Natalie Wrote to us and here is what she wrote:
Lisa, Racheal, and Dean
I cannot thank you enough for all the love and joy you have given me by bringing Sadie and I together. To think that if you had not known Sadie as well as you did and suggested her as the right dog for me I may have overlooked her due to an unfaltering picture on pet finder.
I cannot imagine not having her around now!! She is a wonderful, loving pet who is more then I could have ever asked for. I'm so blessed to have her! I highly recommend this shelter to anyone because of your commitment to all, not just to the animals ... which is amazing. It is also the commitment you have to making sure the right pet goes to the right family and vise versa. Please continue the amazing work you do as in today's world it's needed and tough and the joy you bring to adopters like me is indescribably appreciated.
