We work with all of our animals and give them a lot of love so they will make great pets.
The shelter could use donations of bath towels that are in good shape, NO HOLES or RIPS. We use them for the cages. They give the dogs and cats a nice clean bed every day! Thank you!
Who We Are
We are a Municipal Shelter and Animal Control Department. We serve the town of Old Lyme,but are always available to advise and help anyone who calls. We are the only agency in Old Lyme that is legally able to investigate animal abuse, rescue the neglected animals from there situation, rehabilitate and place them in new homes. We have been working with a other rescue groups and other towns to help promote sucessful rescues and rehabilitations.

It is as easy as calling for a time to come and visit! Or just call and let us know what lovable pet you are looking for. If it is not here, we maybe able to help you find other possibilities. We have had great success in finding pets for people even though we may not have what they are looking for.

We are located off Rt. 95, Exit 71 , Four Mile River Rd. Take Hatchet"s hill to the top. It turns into Machnik Drive. We are the first building on the right.
We are usually at the shelter mid-mornings cleaning, feeding and exercising the animals we house. we are closed on sundays for visitors. we are part-time animal control officers so calling ahead is always the best bet as we may be away on complaint investigations.
