Who we are...

Cavalier Rescue USA (CKCSCR) is a foster and adoption program for Cavalier King Charles Spaniels in need of loving new homes. Our Northeast Region covers rescue adoptions in the following states: CT, DE, DC, MA, ME, MD, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, VT, and WV, and are associated with the original breed club, CKCSC, USA.

Cavaliers who are given to rescue by owners no longer able to keep them, and those rescued from shelters and pounds, are brought into foster homes where they are evaluated, brought up to date medically, and cared for by dedicated volunteers until a permanent, loving home is found. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, and welcome donations to help us pay for the medical needs of foster dogs. To donate, please click on the "Make A Donation" button.

Adopting a Friend...

The number of Cavaliers in rescue has been growing, and we are always looking for loving, responsible homes. As you'd guess though, we're very picky about where our foster dogs go, and are patient until we find the absolute best match for a dog in our care. When we have a dog available for adoption for whom we are seeking applications, we will post the dog on petfinder.com. We otherwise adopt through our existing applicant pool. If you meet the requirements noted for the particular dog we've posted and you'd like to be considered as the dog's new family, you are welcome to call or email us. The adoption process then starts with a written application. If your home is likely to be a great match, then the process progresses as follows...there is a telephone interview, reference checks, talk with the foster family, a visit with the foster dog in his/her foster home, a home visit, and post-adoption follow-up. There is a donation requested which varies based on the age and health of the dog.

Please note that while we occasionally have puppies, we normally don't post them, and either place them through existing applications or with families who have adopted an older or special needs dog from us in the past. The majority of rescued Cavaliers in this area are young to middle aged adult dogs, some with special needs or health issues. We also get some senior citizens each year, and these are especially endearing and in need of great homes.

Some Happy New Beginnings...

Here are pictures of a few of the sweet Cavaliers we've had the pleasure of fostering and adopting into loving new homes...

Nick is a loving young boy who was fostered in Rochester, NY.

Pixie is a sweet little girl who now has a new family in MA. Loving boy Dickens has a great new home too, and his has another Cavalier to pal around with. Both are doing well.

.....

Happening boy Harley now has new digs in CT with 2 Cavalier friends, plus a friendly mixed breed dog. He'll be doted on by his new mom and dad, as well as get lots of play time.

Hamlet has a new home, and it's a terrific one where he's adored by one and all. He is a gentle and loving young boy. His new mom sent in this picture...

This is Heidi, a 4 year old lovely Cavalier who was adopted by a family with 3 young girls, so we know she's getting ample attention:). Next is Nadine, who came to us when her owner passed away and is now with a loving family.

.....

Tri-color boy Skipper Dipper is 5 years old, and is a loving and affectionate dog who loves to be with his person, on your lap or at your side. He has a great home in New Hampshire. Next to him is Phoenix, a devoted and gentle companion who has been adopted to a family in CT.

.....

Syncronized tail waggers Bosley and Blue have been adopted to a terrific, Cavalier loving couple in Western NY, and we know they'll have a happy life.
