Mary's Kitty Korner is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization. We are a very small volunteer-run organization that shelters homeless kitties at our adoption center and in loving, foster homes.
We are commited to finding a safe haven for cats that have been abandoned, abused or left homeless due to their owner's lack of ability to care for them.

We are open to the public every weekend and during the week by appointment. Come visit us Saturday 11-2 and Sunday 12-3. Our Granby Adoption Center has so many gorgeous cats to choose from!!! Handsome tuxedos, adorable kittens, Bombay mixes, orange tigers, lovable declaws to name just a few! Our wonderful, cats are just waiting for loving homes.

Starr
STARR - Starr is a soft and gentle half black half white female who LOVES to talk. She has much to say and is a kind, gentle and unassuming soul. She is content to sit beside you, or to sleep next to you while you are in bed. She still loves to play with her toys and when being petted with one hand, she will meow and look for the other hand. Starr is used to dogs, other cats and gentle children. She would do well as an only cat, or perhaps as a companion to another mellow cat . Starr really is a true "STAR".

Cashmere

Cashmere is a sweet 2-year old boy who just loves people. If you sit down next to him he'll just keep rubbing on all sides of you until you pet him. This rather large boy is looking for someone who will play with him and help him loose a few pounds! Come visit this sweetie at our adoption center in Granby.

Bonkers
Bonkers

Bonkers is a very lovable boy with gorgeous green eyes - just coming up on two and a half years old. He loves to be petted but also likes to partake of any playing opporunities that come his way. Bonkers has lots of other kitty friends at our shelter in Granby and would do fine in a multi-cat household. Please stop by and visit sweet little Bonkers.

Baby
Baby

Baby is a gorgeous lynx point Siamese who was dropped off at a high kill shelter because her owner became ill and could no longer care for her. She was transported to CT so she could find a great home. She is a sweet, as sugar, petite kitty that has beautiful blue eyes. She loves to be petted and purrs her pleasure, she sits on your lap and will follow you everywhere. She just can not get enough attention. If you know Siamese cats, you know they become very attached to their owners, so this girl needs to be placed in a home where she is loved forever. She will attach herself to the next person readily as she is warming up to her foster mom now. This kitty is healthy and ready for her new home, please call or email for the application.

Adoption Process:

Please e-mail or call to let us know which cat you may be interested in adopting. One of our volunteers will contact you and talk with you about the animal. At that time we will answer any questions you may have. An appointment to see the animal will be set up once the initial contact is completed. Once the new owner is ready to take the cat or kitten home, all health records will be forwarded to the new owner's veterinarian. Each home should be able to provide good veterinary care when needed. An adoption fee is required at this time. All of our cats/kittens are returnable, for any reason, at any time. There will be follow-ups with the volunteer handling the adoption so that the transition from Mary's Kitty Korner to your home will be a smooth one.

Foster Recovery Program:

Are you unable to take on the long-term commitment of owning a cat/kitten but want to help an animal in need? Mary’s Kitty Korner is accepting applications for caring animal lovers willing to open their homes and hearts to cats/kittens requiring a safe place to stay while they recover from an unexpected illness or accident. These animals are in urgent need of extra attention, love, and aid that just can’t be provided sufficiently in a shelter environment. MKK will pay for the animal’s vet care, medication, food as well as provide a kennel/crate and ongoing support. If you are willing to foster one of these special needs kitties during their short-term recovery, or until we find them a permanent home, please contact MKK at 379-4141 or 930-3696 and mention our foster and recovery program

Shelter Wish List:

Many people are unable to foster a cat, but would still love to help in some way. We always have cats that have veterinary needs such as spay/neuter and medication. Food and litter alone can gobble up our funds in no time. Since we are all volunteers and rely entirely on adoption fees and donations, we sometimes have to turn away cats simply because there are not enough funds to cover their expenses. Any donation is appreciated, whether it be $5 or $10 and will go a long way in helping our cats! We are a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization, and therefore all donations are tax deductible.
  • Monetary donations
  • Dry cat food
  • Cat treats
  • Cat toys (cat nip toys, things to chase and bat)
  • Cat litter (feline pine)
  • Food and water bowls
  • Laundry and dish detergent
  • Paper towels, sponges
  • Bath-size and hand-size towels and wash cloths
  • Cat beds

Scratching Posts:

In an effort to raise money to spay/neuter and care for our rescue kitties in foster care, we are currently selling cat scratching posts. They are about 3 ft high and the cats love them! Especially when they are doused with catnip! They really do work. A great investment at only $35 - very inexpensive compared to pet supply stores. Great way to preserve your furniture too! Please e-mail if interested in purchasing one of these awesome kitty scratching posts.
