Pet of the Month
Beeker has just arrived on 1/16 and is just as a cute as a button. He is a typical playful puppy that is ready to learn the ropes of being a great companion. He is part lab and possibly part border collie. He will make a great family companion with an active family that is willing to spend time training and exercising this adorable little guy. He should mature to be a medium sized dog around 45-50lbs. He is ready to become your best buddy if you have the right situation for him.

Beeker will be available for a new home 1/30 and his adoption fee will be $200.00 for residents of CT, MA or RI only. You must complete an application, provide a vet reference and allow a home visit prior to completing any adoption.

THE MANSFIELD ANIMAL SHELTER NEEDS DONATIONS OF DRY CAT AND KITTEN FOOD currently - please drop it off at the front gate if no one is at the shelter - leave tied tightly in a plastic garbage bag.

A Big Thank You to Mackeys Agway store for helping the adoptable pets in need of new loving homes. The event was a huge success and we look forward to many more in the future! Also a huge thanks goes out to PURINA Rally to Rescue for sponsoring our event in a big way.......sending out food samples, coupons, calendars and T-shirts to help us spread the good work they do with rescues!
"Rally TO Rescue"
Please check out this great program supporting rescues across the country in gaining awareness to the adoption option of homeless pets from our shelters and rescue organzations. We will be doing several events this year with our new booth and promotional materials supplied by the Rally to Rescue program.
Must fill out application
form completely including a vet reference and phone number (without your vet's number it will slow down your
application process). If you do not have a current vet you
must provide (3) personal references of non-family members. All potential adoptions do
require a home visit by a member of our respected rescue
community. There are no exceptions to this rule. If you live on a busy
street, you will be required to have
conventional fencing of at least 4 ft in height. This means
chain link or stockade type fencing (no invisible fence, stone
walls or post and rail) We do have policies on certain dogs with children - please read each dogs individual write up for more information. This policy is in place for the safety of both the dogs and the children. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt a dog from us.
YOU MUST FILL OUT THE APPLICATION BEFORE VISITING THE ANIMAL OF INTEREST. This process can take up to
two weeks. We appreciate your patience. We are all volunteers with real jobs, foster dogs, fundraising activities and
family lives. Please only fill out an application if you are serious about adopting. Please email us to request an application. Who We Are
We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focuses on
helping the animals at the town municipal pound in Mansfield, CT. We raise
money in efforts of helping the pets at the shelter have a better life
while they are waiting for a new, loving home. Our goal in the future is
to see the shelter improved by rebuilding or renovation.
Adopting A Friend
We also have a very small program of rescue dogs that are
privately fostered by area homes. We have an occasionally pup or two that
is rescued from a kill shelter in another area or state. We have an
adoption process that includes application, interview, vet reference, home
visits and then finally meeting the animal. Otherwise our main focus is to
get the dogs from our local pound into new homes....you can see the
