Our Pet List

About Our Companions...

Our Companions is a nonprofit organization that believes no pet should ever be homeless. The staff, animal experts, and volunteers at Our Companions work every day to serve the state’s most abused, most neglected, most needy pets.

Today we offer pet rescue and adoption services, specialized canine behavioral programs, spay and neuter services, community education, and many other life-saving programs.

In the future, we'll offer Connecticut's first Pet Rescue Center and Sanctuary on 43 acres of generously donated land. At the sanctuary, every animal will be saved from destruction and receive special care. Once healed, they’ll become great candidates for adoption into loving, permanent homes.

We care so much about animals. You do, too. So, please find out more about us. Explore our website. Consider volunteering. Talk to your friends about us. Contribute funds. There are so many ways to help our neediest pets.

In Ashford, we demolished the chicken coops (the biggest buildings in Ashford - see photo below) to pave the way for our future sanctuary. We also worked with the professional engineers at CME to design the entire master plan which was unanimously approved by the Town of Ashford Inland Wetland and Watercourses Commission.

So far we have spent over $300,000 accomplishing the necessary pre-construction and environmental tasks necessary to prepare our sanctuary land for future construction.

These and the many other success Our Companions has enjoyed would not have been possible without your support and the dedication of our over 100 volunteers.

We look forward to sharing many more accomplishments with you next year.
