We are now located in Atenas Costa Rica. Formerly we were located in Edgewater Florida. We hope to be able to help many of the homeless animals of our new home country.
We desperately need foster homes for the animals we take in.
Here in Costa Rica we are not charging an adoption fee but we do encourage donations. We work on a very small budget, (our own pocket) and any and all donations are greatly appreciated.

Who We Are
We are a no kill shelter. We do not euthanize animals unless they are too ill or injured to have decent quality of life. We are dedicated to rescuing and saving any and all animals who come into our care. We have all animals thoroughly examined by a vet and all animals are spayed/neutered/castrated before leaving our shelter. We do not believe an innocent animal should die just because there is no more space in the shelter. We urge everyone to become one of our foster homes by taking in a pet on a temporary basis until a permanent home can be found.

You will find our adoption application at www.lighthouseanimalrescue.com.
Once your application has been approved you will be invited to meet the animal you are interested in adopting. If the animal likes you....and you like the animal....then you may take him/her home on a two week trial basis. After this trial period, if all goes well, your adoption will be completed by the signing of an adoption contract.
We ask that you make a donation to the shelter to at least cover the animals castration, vaccinations, and general vetting.
