The Craig Animal Shelter is located at Bear Creek Animal Hospital. We utilize a section of their boarding kennel to house animals that come in from Craig and the surrounding area. Having our shelter located at an animal hospital ensures that each animal is provided with any veterinary care that it may need and that we are adopting out healthy animals. All puppies and kittens arriving at the shelter receive vaccinations and all cats are tested for feline leukemia.

Adopting a friend
The Craig Animal Shelter makes every effort to match new owners with the right animals. We have an adoption questionnaire for the potential adopter to fill out. If it will be a good match, the new owner then fills out and signs an adoption agreement. Our adoption fees are $115 for cats, dogs, puppies and kittens. All pets are spayed/neutered before being allowed to leave for their new homes or an appointment must be made to have the procedure done within 30 days. Our shelter does early spay/neuter of puppies and kittens and it has proven to be perfectly safe. Other arrangements can be made to have this done elsewhere if the adopter so desires. Please speak to animal control about this and we can fill you in. This is our new city ordinance and there are no exceptions. The city of Craig is trying to do it's part in reducing the numbers of unwanted pets. Thank you for your understanding!
