Who We Are
We are a no-kill dog shelter located in Southwest Colorado; in fact, the oldest no-kill dog shelter in the Four Corners area. Annie's Orphans offers safe haven to a maximum 70 dogs at any given time, with some of these dogs finding permanent sanctuary here. As a volunteer-based organization, we strive hard to provide our orphans with the loving care they need until permanent homes are found, and we have been providing these services since 1985!
Adopting a friend
An adoption application can be accessed on our website, completed, emailed and processed prior to an adoption. We do home inspections to verify a loving and safe home. Our adoption fee is $150.00. Please email Anna Anderson for further information at - anniesk9orphans@yahoo.com
Come Visit Us!
We are located on CR 214 in Durango, Colorado. Prescheduled appointments are appreciated so we can spend adequate time with you, your family and any prospective dog-friend you might be considering. The connection needs to be right for all parties involved, and we are more than willing to consider a "foster" arrangement to make sure the fit is the right one. Please email us to get started! We have a large "neutral" play yard to allow for a better sense of a dog's personality. If you are looking for a buddy for your existing dog, we can let the dogs go for a walk together, then let them play in the play-yard to see if they truly have a connection. We are looking for loving and safe homes for the wonderful dogs we have rescued.
