We would like to thank you for visiting our website and considering one of our adoptable dogs to become your new family member. All of our dogs have been tossed aside for various reasons and our goal is to find them one last home where they can live out the rest of their lives with love and happiness. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers, and boarding facilities, we hope to be able to rescue many dogs every year. We place our dogs in a daycare facility so we can observe their social behavior and then into a foster home to learn house manners and teach them basic obedience. After we get to know our dogs we interview each candidate to find the right home that will fit each dog’s personality and needs. We will provide the necessary vet care, bring them up-to-date on vaccinations, microchip, and heartworm test as well as spay or neuter our dogs. We will work with our rescue dogs that need a little help to trust and love people again, meanwhile improving their social behavior. We will stay involved and be there for each adopted dog for the duration of its life.
The adoption fee for our dogs is $300, which includes a veterinary heath examination, up-to-date vaccinations, a micro-chip, dogs will be spayed or neutered, they will come with a dog collar, and ID tag. Senior dog adoption fees will be posted separately for each dog.
If you see a dog on our website that you would like to meet, please fill out the Adoption Application and one of our volunteers will contact you.
There is no faith which has never yet been broken, except that of a truly faithful dog.

German Shepherd Rescue of the Rockies (GSROR) serves the public as a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue of homeless and abandoned German Shepherd Dogs (GSD) in Denver, Colorado and surrounding areas. While providing loving and temporary care, the goal of German Shepherd Rescue of the Rockies is to find well-matched, carefully-screened, permanent homes and families for each dog. As a community resource, we provide nutrition information, referrals, education, and other services.
We are a newly formed rescue and are in immediate need of foster homes. Please click on the Fostering Guidelines for more information about our foster program. Some of our dogs come to us with behavioral issues, so we have found that previous experience with German Shepherds is helpful. If you have the desire and the interest, but are not familiar with German Shepherds, we ask that you fill out the application. Regardless of your experience with this particular breed, our dogs need good foster homes. We hope to soon have a program available to educate future foster and adoptive parents about the breed and provide training tips.
We want to thank you for your interest in helping GSROR by opening up your homes, families, and hearts to help a dog in need. Rescues would not exist if not for the thoughtful time and generosity of foster parents.
