Who We Are
The Rangely Animal Shelter is located in the Northwestern corner of Colorado. We are funded through the local government, including revenue from licensing fees and fines, as well as, donations from the public and grants The Rangely Animal Shelter is one of two animal shelters that services 3,221 sq. miles in Rio Blanco County and parts of Moffat County. We are dedicated to finding responsible, loving homes for abandoned animals that may otherwise have to be euthanized. We are a no kill shelter because of all the hard work our shelter employess do in finding homes for our animals.
Adopting a friend
To visit the animal shelter contact the the shelter at 970-675-2803, or the Shelter Manager 970-629-3865. We require a donation of 75.00 or more to adopt our animals.. All animals are either spayed or neutered, have all current vaccinations and are micro-chipped before adoption release. Adoptive owners must acquire a city license (FREE) from the animal shelter if they live in Rangely, and present them with a current rabies certificate within 14 days of the acquired license.
Come Visit Us!
Traveling west on Hwy. 64, turn on the first right after the Early Education building (Rider Road). Drive past the Field of Dreams baseball field. The asphalt turns to dirt and if you drive to the end of the road you will run into the animal shelter. The animal shelter has an asphalt circle drive, a yard, flag pole and the building is beige.
