Who We Are

The Rangely Animal Shelter is located in the Northwestern corner of Colorado. We are funded through the local government, including revenue from licensing fees and fines, as well as, donations from the public. The Rangely Animal Shelter is one of two animal shelters that services 3,221 sq. miles in Rio Blanco County and parts of Moffat County. We are dedicated to finding responsible, loving homes for abandoned animals that may otherwise have to be euthanized.

Adopting a friend

To visit the animal shelter contact the Rangely Police Department for an appointment: 675-8467, or Shelter Coordinator: 629-1314. All animals adopted from the shelter are free. Every effort is made to have all animals either spayed or neutered before adoption release. Adoptive owners must acquire a city license (FREE) from the Police Department and present them with current rabies certificate within 14 days of the acquired license.
