When you adopt a shelter pet, you help to save two lives: the one you bring home and the one who takes its place.

Bunny FeeFee was found as a stray and is about 3 years old. She's an outdoor girl and is good at alerting when someone is driving up. She's both friendly with people and with other dogs. Bunny FeeFee loves to swim!! |
Our Featured Cat... |

Chester is a loving guy. He's good with other cats, but not dogs. He's 2 years old. Chester has some nerve damage in his left hind leg and walks on it funny, so he'd be safer if he were an indoor only cat. |

Paws In The Park
Noah's Ark Animal Welfare Association held the 8th Annual Paws in the Park - Sponsored By Griego Insurance, Safeco & Wendy's on Saturday September 10th 9-Noon @ the Trinidad Farmers Market. Activities included "Sweetie's 5k Fun Run", a Pet Parade, the Doggie Dash, Face Painting, Bounce House, Yummy Food, Music & More! Thanks to those who came out and supported Noah's Ark for the morning of animal fun for the whole family! The shelter is in dire need of support from the local community. If we want to keep our doors opened past 2011 we need to raise $40,000 by December to do so. Our financial status is looking grim due to government cut-backs for non-profits, so every dollar counts! 100% of the money raised from this event will go directly to the shelter and will actually be used to purchase more cages for the cats and small dogs in order to maintain the high demand. |

Garage Sale
A Garage Sale that benefited Noah's Ark with 100% of proceeds was held June 4, 2011. Thanks to the community for their donations sold at the garage sale. |

Thanks to The Pedigree Foundation for their generous "Doggies Rule" grant. The funds will help more dogs find their forever home by allowing us to help our less fortunate dogs receive the care and attention they need to be their healthiest, best behaved, and prettiest! |
Noah's Ark Animal Welfare Association is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization with our mission to enhance the care and living conditions of domestic animals within the city of Trinidad and Las Animas county, with emphasis on population control, disease prevention, adoption programs, support of shelters, and the education of the community on animal care issues. We have received grants in the past for spay/neutering dogs and cats to reduce the number of homeless pet animals, and will continue to pursue available funds. All charitable donations to us are tax deductible and will be acknowledged for your tax purposes.
Noah's Ark board and officers have been successfully operating the shelter since 2001. It is an active working board making events happen in the Trinidad area. New Board members who love animals and have plenty of time to serve on our Board are needed. Applicants must live in Las Animas County, Colorado. If this sounds like you, please send a letter of interest to PO Box 478, Trinidad CO 81082. Past events have included the Trinidaddio Blues Fest, newsletter "Noah's Bark", Paws in the Park, garage sales, Peacock Ball, Yellow Doggies donation containers, New Shelter Advisory Board, Feral Cat Program, and animal care education for elementary school students.

Dog adoption fee: $50* includes distemper vaccination (does not include rabies).
Cat adoption fee: $15* includes FVRCP vaccination (does not include rabies).
*Any dog that has not been altered will be spayed/neutered before leaving the shelter.

If you have animal handling experience and would like to help Noah's Ark by fostering a pet, contact the shelter for more information. Our Foster Care program consists of 3 categories:
Kittens: Some kittens come to the shelter without a mother, or need to be removed from the mother. If you have experience feeding and caring for newborn kittens, and can keep them until they're 8 weeks old and weigh 2 pounds, we could use your help.
Puppies: Some puppies come to the shelter without a mother, or need to be removed from the mother. If you have experience feeding and caring for newborn puppies, and can keep them until they're 8 weeks old and a healthy weight for the breed, we could use your help.
Special Needs dogs: Some dogs come to the shelter in need of training, socializing, or with health concerns. If you have experience with caring for and/or training dogs, we could use your help.
Noah's Ark is open 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday through Saturday's hours are 10:00 AM till 4:00 PM. We are located at 224 North Chestnut, Trinidad, Colorado 81082.
