Our Featured Pet...

Callie is our featured kitty! She is a Tortiose shell cat, 13 years old. Callie is a very sweet, short hair cat. She is very friendly! She purrs and loves people! She was given up because her family wanted to travel and no longer had time for her. She is a lap cat! You can see a picture of her on our adoptable pet list. Please consider giving Callie the loving, new home she deserves. If you any questions about Callie or any other kitty CLAWS has, please call (970)241-3793, or email: claws@bresnan.net

News

The CLAWS Rescue and Adoption Center is now open!!! We now have a shelter! We are so excited! The facility is located at 2214 Sanford Dr. #A5, Grand Junction, CO 81505. You can call us at 241-3793 for directions. For now, we don't have set hours as we rely on volunteers, but you can call to see if we are in before you come out. We will continue be a no-kill rescue. Every cat or kitten is kept for as long as it takes to find them a forever home. We do not euthanize for space or convenience. Even with the new shelter, we are still in need of foster homes to provide temporary care for mother cats with kittens. We will provide the kitten/cat food and of course, all of the medical expenses are paid as well. All of our kitties are tested for FeLV and FIV before they go into foster care, so you know your current kitties will not be at risk of contracting these deadly viruses. Call us at (970)241-3793 if you can help!

Who We Are

We are a non-profit, all volunteer organization dedicated to preventing cruelty and ending the suffering of cats in need. With rescue, spaying/neutering, medical care, fostering and adoption to approved homes, these cats can have a higher quality of life. We hope to educate the community about the proper care of cats and the importance of spaying and neutering. We are also working to change the attitudes that cats are disposable, and hoping that in the future, euthanasia is not used for population control. Our common goal is to create a happier, healthier life for cats on the Western Slope of Colorado. As a collective group of mothers, business owners and cat lovers, volunteers come to us with a variety of backgrounds, including a Master's degree in public health, and an Applied Science degree as a Veterinary Technician. Together, with your help, we will grow and continue our mission to help the people and cats in need, including every cat from pets and strays, to ferals. Cats Lives Are Worth Saving!!
