If you are a Colorado Resident - then consider becoming a Foster Home for Rottie Aid!
As we do not have Kennels or a Shelter, this is how we save all these great dogs - through dedicated Foster Homes that provide a warm place to sleep and some love - while Rottie Aid provides for the dogs' medical care and searches for the dogs' forever home.

Who We Are
Rottie Aid is a Group of Volunteers that love Rottweilers. Many of us are invovled in working our Rottweilers in herding, carting, obedience, agility and conformation - but we all share the passion to better the lives of those Rotties that weren't so lucky. We mostly rescue dogs from Shelters that are either hurt, abandoned or not acceptable for adoption due to their behavior in the Shelter system. Rottweilers are very sensitive dogs, and some are too scared or too defensive in the Shelters, and go back to being their wonderful selves once they get into a foster home.
We sometimes take dogs in from private owners - when they can no longer keep their dogs - but we encourage those needing to rehome their companion to use our Placement Assistance service

where the dogs are placed directly from their current residence with their owners into a new home - Rottie Aid is merely a listing service - but we have assisted in facilitating over 100 adoption in the last 3 1/2 years this way.
Adopting a friend
To Adopt a dog from Rottie Aid - you will need to fill out an Adoption Application and state which dog you are interested in. A Rottie Aid Volunteer will contact you - either via email or phone - and discuss the dog in more detail and if it would be a good fit for your family.
A home visit will be set up - so that the dog can meet the entire family - pets and all - and if all goes well, reference checks and home ownership (where applicable) verification will then be done. After everything checks out, an adoption date will be set up - and Rottie Aid will then transfer ownership to the dogs' new owner.

Rottie Aid is not a Shelter or a Kennel. We work through a network of Foster Homes. Each of our dogs is in a private residence learning how to live in a family situation.
