Lucky Paws Rescue
Our Featured Pet...
Our feature for the month of December is several cats that need barn homes. We have two young males (litter mates) who were living under an overpass that can not be returned there. We also have a young cat who was a mom rescued from a shelter. Now that her babies have weaned and found homes she has no where to go. These young cats are healthy, have been spayed/neutered, tested and vaccinated. They are not tame and are not adoptable. We are looking for barn homes where they will have warm shelter, be fed daily, and allowed to live their lives free roaming in a protected environment.
News
The Lucky Paws Thrift Shop at the Antique Mall located at 9635 W. Colfax (one block east of Kipling) is open for business! The LOWER level of the Antique Mall is dedicated to area rescues to help raise much needed funds! Come out and spend the day brousing all of the Mall and don't forget to stop by the lower level and make some purchases to help a great cause! All funds raised from the Lucky Paws Rescue thrift shop will go into our medical fund. We are also in need of donated items to put in our thrift shop. So if you're doing some cleaning please pass those unwanted but usable items our way! (We also have a great antique piano near the Cafe at the Antique Mall so don't forget to stop down there!)
Who We Are
Lucky Paws Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)(3) rescue formed to offer an alternative in our community for orphans, strays, abandoned, and unwanted cats and kittens who would otherwise face an uncertain future at other shelters.
Lucky Paws Rescue is a no-kill rescue staffed totally by volunteers who have a passion for rescue. We provide loving foster homes for kittens too young for adoption, for injured or ill cats and kittens during recovery, and for cats and kittens in need of socialization. When they are ready for adoption we carefully interview and screen applicants so that each cat and kitten is assured a loving forever home! No pets are adopted without first being spayed or neutered, tested and vaccinated.
Since opening in October of 2005, over 1,300 cats and kittens have passed through our rescue! There are always items that we need donated to our rescue. At this time we need dry cat and kitten food, canned cat and kitten food, litter, towels, baby blankets for the kittens, kitty toys, carriers that you may no longer need, kitty condos, or any supplies that could be used in foster homes for our cats and kittens. We are also in need of adoption alternatives. We currently showcase cats for adoption at Care Animal Hospital located at 80th & Kipling in Arvada and at VCA Southeast Animal Hospital located at 9801 E. Iliff Avenue in Denver and Paws-n-Play a pet food shop in Olde Town Arvada. We have adult cats available for adoption at the Westminster Petsmart and the Superior Petsmart. You can stop by these two stores anytime to visit our kitties. We also have kitties for adoption each Saturday at the Westminster PetsMart located at Highway 36 and Church Ranch Road. We do adopitons each Saturday from noon - 3pm. We are seeking additional adoption locations such as other pet specialty shops and other veterinary offices. If you know of anyone who would be interested in showcasing a cat or kitten for adoption for us, please contact us! Also we are gearing up for kitten season! We are in need of foster homes, especially those who can care for orphan kittens who are not yet weaned and need to be bottle fed. If you are interested in fostering for us please call and we'll set up a meeting!
Adopting a friend
Adopting from Lucky Paws Rescue is a commitment for the rest of the cat's life. Because our primary responsibility is to our rescued cats and kittens, and in order to ensure that the rescued cat has the best possible chance to succeed in its new home, we ask that you first submit an application. A volunteer adoption counselor will then contact you to conduct an interview and will then schedule a meeting with you and your family and the new cat or kitten you are interested in adopting to make sure it is a 'purr-fect' match.
Our goal is making certain that each and every adoption is forever!
Adoption Fee: $75.
Fee includes:
Vet check, spay or neuter, first vaccination, and testing for FIV/FeLV.

Come Visit Us!
We do not currently have a shelter. All cats are cared for in foster homes until they are ready for adoption. If you are interested in any pet please read their profile on Petfinder which will indicate where they are available for adoption and the times they are available. Stop by to visit the kitty and if it is a good match fill out an adoption application. The adoption process requires that you fill out an application, we then do an intereview and check references and if approved we finalize the adoption! We update our Petfinder information daily so it always accurately portrays the kitties we have available for adoption.
