Our Featured Pet...

Our featured pet is Charley!

Charley says:
September 2005: My name is Charley and I'm a handsome little Chocolate Point boy with fluffy fur. I was trapped in a feral colony in Kansas but was found to not be feral so rescue was called. I am fearful and shy with my foster meowmy but I just recently arrived in my foster home not too long ago, so keep checking back for an updated profile as my foster family works with me and gets to know me better.

Update December 28th, 2005: I am now staying in foster meowmy's bedroom so that I can get accustomed to her being there and so that I can see that she's not going to hurt me. I am a very scared little boy and spend most of my time hiding. I do venture out at night or when foster meowmy is not in the room. As of right now, I am too fearful to be adopted out but foster meowmy is working with me with love and patience so hopefully I'll figure out I'm safe and loved soon. Please keep checking back for an update on me. Luv Charley

Update Feb. 21, 2006: I am now comfortable enough to sleep on my foster meowmy's bed at night, but I stay close to her feet. I love to pounce on her toes and fingers when they're wiggled under the covers. I no longer run off and hide when she enters the room, but am still very watchful. I am getting more and more vocal, and will talk to her when she's in the room. I walk around her feet just to tease her. I even let her pick me up this morning so she could clip my claws and I was a well behaved boy. I could get used to being held and cuddled! Keep checking - I'm getting braver everyday! Luv Charley

Update March 9, 2006 Foster Meowmy is still working with me and I'm making slow progress with her. The newest development is that I'm now integrated in with 2 other foster kitties and we're having a lot of fun playing together. I love to tumble and play chase. Foster Meowmy says to tell you that I get along well with other cats and I would really like to have a playmate, so when adopted I will need to go home to another young, playful cat or I will need to be paired up with one in the program. Right now I'm playing with Denzel and Tucker and am having a great time! Luv Charley

Update October 17, 2006 Take a look at my updated pictures! Aren't I a handsome fellow! I love to stretch out around the house - on the floor, counters, tables - any place that has enough space for me. I'm really getting more comfortable with the goings on around here, but I'm still a little skittish at times. Although I don't run and hide anymore, I do make sure that I know where you're at in the room so that I don't get too close. Foster meowmy is still working with me by giving me more brushings and picks me up for short periods of time (when I'd rather be eating!) to give me lots of love. If you have a lot of patience and would be interested in continuing to work with me, please let my foster meowmy know. Luv Charley
