THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED IN RESCUING 161 CATS. WE TOOK IN 14! They will start being available February 4th. The 14 cats/kittens rescued are in very good health. They currently have some yeast infections in the ears and some have scabs on their bodies. They will be getting a physical done on Friday at Specialpets Health Care Center formerly Markways Animal Medical Center in Pueblo West. The Males will be neutered on Friday and the Females spayed on Monday. We think it will cost us about $100 per cat to get then health checked,FIV and FELV tested, vaccinated, de-wormed, rabies and spayed. There may be two dentals that we estimate to be about $200 each so a total of $1800 to take care of these 14 kitties. If you are able to donate towards their care please send checks to Pet Project PO Box 7312 Pueblo West Co 81007. You can also bring cash or checks to our adoption fairs at the Briargate Petsmart from 11-3 on Saturdays. The cats and kittens are friendly and have allowed all handling. Several are already rubbing on us and purring. You can see their pictures, ages and personalities' at our www.petfinder.com site. Pet Project believes that several will be ready as soon as Wednesday. These are very handsome cats that appear to be either Persian or Himalayan mixes. We also have a Black exotic, burmese or bombay? He is very interesting and unique looking.

Who We Are

Pet Project is the leading Southern Colorado cat rescue group. We do not have a shelter, we rely on a dedicated group of foster parents. We have non- profit status and maintain an all- volunteer staff. We take cats and a very few dogs from local shelters and therefore help alleviate euthanization numbers. We offer advice regarding pet care and behavioral concerns, and strive to be an organization of honesty and integrity. We work to provide quality care for the animals and we are honest with perspective pet owners about animal history and temperament. We are dedicated to finding the perfect pet for you. Pet Project believes strongly that spaying and neutering is critical in the effort to lower the numbers of unwanted pets. Our policy is that all of our animals are spayed or neutered before they go home with their adoptive families.

If you are looking to adopt immediately, please come by any of our adoption locations and pick up an application. It is reviewed immediately. After approval you and your new family member can go home together that very day.
