Who We Are
Pet Project is the leading Southern Colorado rescue group. We do not have a shelter, we rely on a dedicated group of foster parents. We have non- profit status and maintain an all- volunteer staff. We take cats and a very few dogs from local shelters and therefore help alleviate euthanization numbers. We offer advice regarding pet care and behavioral concerns, and strive to be an organization of honesty and integrity. We work to provide quality care for the animals and we are honest with perspective pet owners about animal history and temperament. We are dedicated to finding the perfect pet for you. Pet Project believes strongly that spaying and neutering is critical in the effort to lower the numbers of unwanted pets. Our policy is that all of our animals are spayed or neutered before they go home with their adoptive families.
If you find someone on Petfinder that you'd like to learn more about please email their foster parent with link provided. Please complete the application and email it back to us or fax. When it has been reviewed and approved we can discuss adoption. We do not discuss adoption without having an application approved and on file. If you are looking to adopt immediately, please come by any of our adoption locations and pick up an application. It is reviewed immediately. After approval you and your new family member can go home together that very day.
Come Visit Us!
We do adoptions all week long at the two Petsmart locations in Colorado Springs. The Briargate Petsmart is in North CO Springs, exit 150 off of I-25. Head East and the store is 3 or 4 blocks down on your right-hand side. The Southgate Petsmart store is on Southgate Road in the new Broadmoor shopping center. This store is in South CO Springs, head West off the I-25 "Circle" exit. Turn right when you see the sign for Broadmoor Town Center. We always have cats/kittens available throughout the week at the Briargate and Southgate stores and have many more to chose from at the Saturday adoption fairs. The adoption fair at the Briargate store runs from 11 am until at least 3 pm. We have added the Monument Petsmart at 16086 Jackson Creek pkwy, exit I-25 at Baptist road.
