Who We Are
We are a small county shelter located in the Sacramento Valley in California. We have only 14 dog kennels, no outside runs and 20 cat cages.
Our non-profit group, Friends of the Colusa County Animal Shelter, has made many improvements in the past three years. (Our final 501 (c) 3 papers are pending. Still waiting on the government.)
OFFICE HOURS: Monday thru Sunday 2 - 3 pm. We also are available during other shelter hours by appt.. Arrangements can be made with our volunteers if necessary at times when the shelter is closed. FOR ADOPTION INFORMATION: Please email our adoption coordinator at foccas@colusanet .com. We check our emails iin the morning and afternoon. We want to place our adoptable animals into a caring and compassionate home. We do welcome you to visit the shelter, meet the dog or cat you are considering to become your next family member, and complete an adoption application. We discourage impulsive adoptions so please allow time for your application to be evaluated.

ADOPTION APPLICATION:
Our goal is to place our animals in loving and appropriate homes therefore in order for you to be considered for adopting one of our animals we ask that you complete an adoption application.

Click on Adoption Policy and on the right hand side of the page click on the dog photo and you can download it right there.Our fax number is - (530)458-4697. Please put Animal Control on the cover page and note which pet you are interested in. Incomplete applications will delay the adoption procedure.
We try to update the availability of our pets the same day that they are adopted.
ADOPTION FEES: $10.00 per animal.
We charge a refundable spay/neuter deposit- $40 for cats, $50 for dogs. .
We are happy to work with Rescues. We just need proof of your 501 (c) (3) status.

Take I-5 north (Sacramento area) exit Williams/Hwy 20 head East. OR Take I-5 south (Redding area) exit Maxwell head east to Hwy 45 then go south to Market then East on Market and south on Bridge Street to E. Carson. We are behind the Sheriffs Dept.
