PAWED ADOPTIONS. We are pleased to announce that PAWED (People for Animal Welfare in El Dorado county) is helping with animal adoptions at our shelter on Saturdays. Come by to see all of our adoptable animals and to learn valuable information. PAWED is at the shelter every Saturday from 9:30am to 12:00noon.
CALLING ALL ANIMAL FOSTER PARENTS! We are always in need of good foster parents to some our special animals. You will have to fill out a foster parent application. Then once that has been approved you will be visited by one of our field officers at your residence to do a home inspection. There will need to be shelter and confinement for the type of animals you wish to foster. We provide food and transfer cages for dogs and cats. We will also provide food for livestock that is being fostered. You may be asked to bring puppies and kittens back to the shelter for vaccinations.
We respond to calls regarding loose livestock and pick up livestock who's owners can not be located.
We provide quarantine facilities for animals who are involved in bite situations and must be closely monitored due to expired or no rabies vaccine history. Animals with current vaccines are quarantined at home and visited by an Animal Control officer during quarantine to check on the health of the animal.
We provide humane education and group tours of our facility (appointments necessary).
Livestock adoptions require that we conduct a physical inspection of fencing and shelter prior to adoption.
