If you have a pet that you need to place, there are a few things that you can do:
1) check the shelter list and call to see if they are accepting pets;
2) post a classified ad;
3) take the pet to Petsmart, Petco, etc. on weekends when Rescue Groups are there.
It's a lot harder to say no with the pet staring you in the face!
Please be patient, there are a lot of organizations that are trying to save lives.
Situations can change on a daily basis and so can acceptance policies.
Please be aware that most shelters are kill facilities and that they can have high euthanization rates.
Good Luck!
