News -Next Adoption Event

We do NOT have a kennel facility, we foster the animals in our own homes until they find their forever home. For this reason we do not show the animals except during our adoption events. Our next adoption event will be held on Sunday, Feb. 12th at the Petco in Buena Park (6020 Ball Rdl, corner of Ball Rd and Valley View) from 11:00 am to 3 pm. If you are interested in any of our adoptable animals please Email us at petadoptconnect@aol.com or call us at (714) 494-6024 to make sure that the animal you are interested in will be at our event. Some of the puppies that we have listed on our Petfinder webpage will be available at an adoption event being held this Sunday, Feb. 12th also but at another location, at the Petsmart in Whittier (15618 Whitwood Ln. in the Whitwood Mall) from NOON pm to 4 pm. Please check the listing carefully to see when the pet is available and where he/she will be for adoption. If you have any questions email us at petadoptconnect@aol.com.

News - Blankets and Towels Needed

Our puppies and kitties need warm blankets and towels for the cold winter weather. If you have any used (or new) blankets or towels that you would like to donate to our organization, they would be greatly appreciated!!! We are usually at the Buena Park Petco (6020 Ball Rd.) on most Sundays from 11 am to 3 pm (check this web page for our adoption event dates) if you have a donation that you would like to drop off. Or email or call and we will contact you. We don't care if they have a stain or they are ripped a little as the animals won't notice the difference.

Donate

Now we have made it easier than ever for you to help us help the animals. We have joined with PayPal and you can donate anytime, right here online just by clicking on the DONATE button. Because we are a 501 c 3 non-profit, your donation is totally tax deductible!!

Who We Are

The Pet Adoption Connection is an all volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. We are a small group dedicated to the rescue and placement of unwanted or abandoned dogs and cats. We foster the animals in our own homes until they are placed in new permanent homes (we do NOT have a kennel facility). All animals are healthy, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, wormed, etc. before they are released from us. We do not kennel our animals, we foster them in our homes and therefore we know their temperament, personalities, likes and dislikes, thus helping us to match them with their new families.

Adopting a friend

When you come visit us at an adoption event to pick out a new member of your family you will be asked to fill out a short adoption contract. A Pet Adoption Connection volunteer will ask you some questions to make sure that the animal friend that you have chosen is the right fit for both you and the animal. Remember, adoption of an animal is a lifetime commitment. For this reason we have 2 ways to adopt an animal, either a one week trial or permanent placement. When you adopt an animal on a one week trial you have one week in which to make sure that the new pet fits into your household and if it doesn't you can return the animal to us within that week and we will refund your adoption fee. We want to make sure that the new member of your family is comfortable with you and you are comfortable with them. After the one week is over it becomes a permanent adoption. We do require that if you are adopting a puppy / dog from us that you own your home, and that you have a fenced backyard big enough for the dog when it is full grown (as he/she will need a permanent yard to run around in). Also, you must come to one of our adoption events to meet the animal you are interested in adopting, as we do NOT ship our animals on planes, trains or otherwise.

DO NOT ADOPT A PUPPY JUST BECAUSE HE OR SHE IS CUTE! Take into consideration that a new owner should expect typical puppy behavior, which COULD include destructive behavior (chewing, digging, peeing on the carpet, etc.). Please keep in mind that puppies require time, effort, patience, and a larger monetary investment than an adult dog. You need to realize that you will get from a puppy exactly what you are willing to put into them.... pretty much like kids! We ask that you give a lot of thought to whether you have the lifestyle and environment at this point in time in your life to give this puppy the home it deserves. (i.e, if you just got a new job, have a new baby, new carpet, furniture or landscaping it's probably not the best time for a puppy!)
