Who We Are
We are the animal shelter for the County of Ventura. We service Simi Valley, Moorpark, Camarillo, Port Hueneme, Ventura, Ojai, Fillmore and all the unincorporated areas of Ventura County. We provide sheltering services for the cities of Oxnard and Santa Paula.
Adopting a friend
In addition to the great selection of dogs and cats available daily at our shelter, we usually have rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, lizards, iguanas, snakes, chickens and, occasionally, livestock for adoption.
All of our dogs and cats are spayed and neutered before going home. New adoptees receive their first vaccination, microchip implant, rabies vaccination, free checkup at any one of a number of veterinarians in Ventura County, and we have a fourteen day return policy. If you reside within Ventura County, you must purchase a county license in addition to the $105.00 adoption fee.

The Ventura County Animal Shelter is conveniently located just north of Los Angeles and south of Santa Barbara at 600 Aviation Dr. in the City of Camarillo. Hours: Monday 11am - 7pm, Tuesday - Closed, Wednesday 11pm-7pm, Thursday and Friday 3:00pm - 7pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am - 4pm. Closed Tuesdays and Holidays
