About Our Adoptable Pets...

To see photos of our adoptable cats, click on the link at the top of the page entitled "Our Adoptable Pets List." While looking at the list of adoptable cats, please consider adding an "adult" cat to your family. Kittens truly look like kittens for such a very short period of time, considering cats may easily live to 22 years of age, and pretty much look like adults by the age of 6 months.

An advantage to adopting an adult is the foster guardian will be able to tell you exactly the character, likes and dislikes and demeanor of that particular cat. This may be important information to an adopter if there are particular characteristics an adopter is looking for in a cat. A kitten's character will not be in place until it is a mature cat--around one and a half years of age. It has been the organization's experience that adult cats placed into a home change at times but only for the better as they realize and settle into their home at last! Ah . . . .

If a kitten must go home with you, consider adopting two kittens at a time even if you are looking for company for an adult cat already in residence. That way the adult can interact when it wants to and won't be plagued by one very frisky, energetic kitten. The kittens will have each other for that kind of play. Think about it.

"Lots of people talk to animals...Not many listen, though. That's the problem."-Benjamin Hoff, The Tao of Pooh

Calls about any of the cats seen on Cats' Crossroads are always welcomed at (707) 365-5879. The cats are tested for FeLV and in some cases FIV, too, spay/neutered, vaccinated (FVRCP and rabies) and microchipped. Full disclosure is always given to the adopter of the cat's medical history and character/demeanor.

If you need another source to look for that special cat to enter your life after having looked at available cats on Cats' Crossroads, please go to solano-shelter.petfinder.com to look for that special someone(s) or go to The Pet Club in Cordelia every first and third Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to see some of the available cats at the shelter's offsite adoption venue.

Who We Are

We are a newly formed nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting individuals trap, neuter and return (TNR) cats in colonies. Before return to their respective colonies, cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and rendered parasite free. Cats who have been TNR'd are just starting to be placed in the Happy Tails section. It is our intention to continue this process as time and photos permit. All of their little faces matter.

Please consider us always full of cats seeking a new home, as there are thousands of cats seeking safe placement. If you are moving and encountering difficulty finding suitable housing that will accommodate your entire family, including your cat, please contact us for a booklet that will help or go to peoplewithpets.com. It REALLY is possible to find that place. Or, if you are welcoming a baby to your family or if you are encountering another situation with your cat, please feel free to contact us, as we may be able to assist you with ideas to implement so that you'll be able to have a harmonious home once again. You may also find helpful information about cats by clicking on the following button provided by Animal Planet.

"Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is to not stop questioning." -Albert Einstein

If you're missing your cat, please check online by going to www.petharbor.com. Also go to your local animal shelter as soon as possible. Sometimes a description isn't accurate and/or a photo may be missing. Don't rely upon the microchip for your cat to come back to you, if your cat is fortunate enough to have one. Sometimes cats end up in the feral cat area, whether social or not, and the cats there are not scanned for a microchip. Go at least twice a week to the shelter for as long as you can. Placing an ad in the paper and fliers around your neighborhood that includes a photo, if possible, are other excellent ways to recover your cat.

Adopting a Friend

Inquiring questions about a particular cat are always welcome! The process to adopt is to contact Cats' Crossroads either by phone or email (707-365-5879 or catsxroads@aol.com) for an application. Questions or clarifications about the application are conducted either by phone or email. The adoption fee is $85.00, which includes the registration of the microchip. There is a price break if two cats are adopted. The cats are tested for FeLV and in some cases FIV, too, spay/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Full disclosure is always given to the adopter of the cat's medical history and character/demeanor.

How To Visit Us!

We are a foster based organization and therefore do not have a site to visit. Please contact us to arrange a meeting to introduce yourself to a new friend. Phone (707) 365-5879 or email catsxroads@aol.com.

An Invitation for Vacaville's Cats Living Exclusively Outdoors

You've turned a corner and you've been found by a cat or cats! Over 70% of cats who enter our nation's animal control pounds and shelters are killed--feral, stray, and companion cats. That number jumps to virtually 100% for feral cats. They might call it "euthanasia." But an animal is euthanized when she is hopelessly sick or injured. A healthy animal is not euthanized. She is killed. For feral cats, its called "catch and kill"--and your tax dollars and donations are funding it. Catch and kill is an endless, costly, and cruel cycle. Therefore, Cats' Crossroads has launched Project Spay/Neuter to assist individuals trap, neuter and return (TNR) cats living in Vacaville. For more information about the TNR process, go to alleycat.org or please contact us for more information on how to proceed or come visit our with representatives at Vacaville's Town Square Library every Thursday from 2-4 p.m. from November through April or at Vacaville's Farmers Market on Saturday from 8 to noon May through October. Think of yourself as an agent of positive change for the cats and the environment. Both need you desperately.

"We've given them our loving care--no small gift--but their gift to us has been immeasurable." -Ellen Perry Berkeley, Maverick Cats

Cats truly need all of us doing all that we possibly can to improve their lives, so consider yourself INVITED. Please keep Cats' Crossroads in mind even if you're not able to adopt a cat or know of any cats where you live or work that are in need of TNR. You can help US help THEM by raising funds through various avenues: by donating your computer printer or fax/copier toner cartridges for recycling purposes, by donating cat traps or large dog crates for post-surgery aftercare purposes, or donating items for garage sales scheduled for March and November. All monies collected through whatever avenue are kept strictly for Project Spay/Neuter. Cats' Crossroads will be able to provide a donation receipt for income tax purposes upon request. We look forward to hearing from you! Remember, think of yourself as an agent of positive change for the cats and the environment. Both need you desperately.

"How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world." -Anne Frank
