Who We Are
Homeless Hounds (Big Dog Rescue) is a non-profit, no-kill, 501-c tax exempt rescue which finds homes for dogs of all sizes. We are on 20 acres and have a separate building where potential adopters may visit, volunteers can have a tea break, and dogs can learn proper house manners. We only have 10 dogs at any one time, so we can spend quality time with each dog. The only time our dogs are in their kennels is when they are eating, sleeping, or if the weather is bad, otherwise they are out in the yards playing with all their friends. In the yards they have grass to lay on, rocks to play on, dirt to dig in, and shade to rest in.

Adopting a friend
Forever or foster homes are always needed for many loving dogs. If we don't have the dog you're looking for, we would be happy to help you find him or her.
Generally, our adoption criteria places dogs in homes where children are over 4 years of age. If you feel you would like to discuss this with us due to special circumstances we are happy to listen.
All of Big Dog Rescue's dogs are spayed or neutered, brought current on vaccinations, microchipped, and receive comprehensive health examinations prior to being placed in responsible and loving homes. Our screening and placement procedures speak to a high standard as it is our goal to ensure a quality match is made between dog and guardian. We perform routine home visits, require adoption contracts and fees, and make it our policy to be a valuable resource for adopters for the life of the relationship. After all, adopting a dog is a lifelong commitment. We want to be there to help.
To adopt or foster you need to fill in an application.
You can also download a copy in PDF format from our web site.
