Our Adoptable Dogs

Who We Are

Grateful Dogs Rescue, a non-profit organization, was founded over 10 years ago by Michelle Parris, a former SF Animal Care & Control volunteer. She made it her mission to rescue "un-adoptable dogs," i.e. dogs not made available for adoption because they needed some medical help or some behavioral training. Rather than letting these dogs be euthanized, Grateful Dogs saves as many as possible by fostering these special-needs dogs until a loving home is found. Adopting a friend

The Grateful Dogs Rescue adoption procedure is designed to find a good match between the dog and adopter. Our goal is a happy human and happy dog in a "forever home." The adoption procedure includes an application, interview, home inspection, and adoption fee. The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, micro-chip, shots, and other medical care given before the dog is adopted. Adoptions are local, confined to SF Bay Area.

Foster care is donated by volunteers. If you are interested in offering a temporary home for a foster dog, please contact us by phone or email. Thank you for opening your heart to a Grateful dog!
