Our Adoptable Pet List
Last month a very nice older lady was removed from her home and placed in an assisted living facility by APS. She had 12 cats that have been given to KATMOM in order to help them find homes. All 12 of these loving cats will be out at Super Adoptions at PETSMART this saturday and sunday. We have found new homes for many of these loving cats but we still have 6 that need new furever homes! Their names are Bubbles, Lucy, Rapunzel, Thomas II, and Peek-a-boo.

Our Cat of the month is "Sparkle"
Sparkle is good with children and cats. She was a good mom. She is a very quiet cat and stays out of trouble. She is a love, would prefer to be an only cat and likes to sleep in her own chair. Is a tiny bit shy but warms up quickly. Sparkle was born on 6/24/2008
Our Dog of the month is "Oscar"
Oscar is a very sweet and playful boy. He is very attentive and always aims to please. He comes right away when called, sits, lays down and shakes. He goes into his crate on command and he is housebroken. His previous owner neglected him and would leave him in his backyard for days without food and as such he learned how to get out of the yard to go look for food, now that Oscar is being fed on a regular basis he no longer tries to get out of the yard. He is very sweet and submissive with another dog that he is currently fostering with. Oscar is a lot leaner in his build than many pit bulls are and he has the unique trait of having one blue eye and one brown eye. We believe that Oscar is about 18 months old.

These cats do not have an adoption fee. We prefer that these cats go in groups of TWO OR MORE.
WHO WE ARE
KATMOM is a non-profit, no-kill organization founded in 2003 to reduce the population of unwanted pets. Since there are so many feral and semi-feral cats wandering the streets of our neighborhoods, KATMOM decided to help take care of those animals. In the few years KATMOM has been in existence, we have successfully trapped, neutered and returned many animals back to their colonies, preventing thousands of unwanted litters of kittens. As KATMOM has grown, we now rescue abandoned, abused, and homeless cats and kittens.Dogdad grew out of Katmom's rescue efforts. We began rescuing small dogs and puppies when we would go and rescue cats and kittens on location. Since Dogdad's inception, we have networked with Animal Control offices up and down the State of California saving many dogs from the fate of the state system.
BY THE NUMBERS
In the few years KATMOM has been in existence, we have successfully trapped, neutered and returned many animals back to their colonies; as a result; we saved unwanted litters being born over the lifetime of these cats.From 2003 through 2005 Katmom TNR over 250 cats and adopted out 580
cats and kittens.In 2006-07 KATMOM was able to TNR more than 200 cats and was able to place over 1100 cats and kittens into loving homes.
In 2006-07 Dogdad was also able to rescue and place 250 dogs into new loving homes.
So far in 2008 we have TNR 100 cats and placed over 300 cats/kittens and 30 dogs into new loving homes.
ADOPTING A FRIEND

Our adoption fee is Kittens up to 1 year old $90, and Adults over one year old $20.00. That includes age appropriate vaccines, spay/neuter, micro-chipping, free veterinary wellness check, FIV/FeLV testing, and 30 days of free pet insurance.
If you would like to adopt one of Dogdad's dogs, please e-mail or call us, 916-709-8689, to start the process. E-mail works best, adoptions@katmom.com. Our adoption fees are Puppies up to 1 year $250, 1 year and older are $100 - $250, Dogs who have had dentals, boarding, or blood work $300, and Large Breed dogs will begin at $350.00 and go up depending on costs associated with their sterilization procedure and any additional procedures that are necessary and have to be done prior to their being adopted. That includes all age appropriate vaccines, spay/neuter, micro-chipping, free veterinary wellness check and heart worm testing for all dogs over one year.
Want to Help even if you can't adopt? All the money raised through adoptions and donations goes straight to our animals. Katmom and Dogdad is completely run by volunteers.

Our Job: We take care of all approved medical expenses including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and medications.
