Our Featured Pets...

Our Foster Cat of the month is "Lacey"

I am a little shy. I like to be petted, tolerate being held and do not like dogs. I was rescued from Sacramento City College when I was young. I am ok with trimming my nails, good with the cat box and love to play with my springy toys. I am pretty quiet, but can play a little rough. I dont like my tummy rubbed, but do like to be petted everywhere else. I love to attack your toes under the covers and sleep with you in the bed.

Our Foster Dog of the Month is "Joey"

Joey is a cattle dog and extremely smart. Joey is a great companion dog, he is very loyal. He does get along with kids and other dogs, put prefers to have all the attention when other dogs are around. He is house broke (uses a doggie door currently). He does walk well on a leash/harness. Joey will be your shadow if allowed, will take all the attention and love you are willing to give him. He does shed, so daily grooming would probably help this. He seems a very nice dog, spent the night in the dog house, really wants to come in the house with the people. Lets you pet him all over, except does not like his little tail handled. Jumps up on you a lot, but learns fast to stay down. He did not bark at the other dogs at all, only at us people to get our attention. He cannot be fed near another dog. We are not 100% sure of when Joey's birthday is but we believe it is around 10/21/2001.

NEWS

KATMOM ALSO HAS BARN CATS TO PLACE. These cats do not have an adoption fee. We prefer that these cats go in groups of TWO OR MORE.

Please contact us at info@katmom.com for more information.

Currently we DO NOT have a TNR or Community Spay/Neuter program at this time. We are trying to gain grant money to return these very valuable programs to our rescue group.

WHO WE ARE

KATMOM is a non-profit, no-kill organization founded in 2003 to reduce the population of unwanted pets. Since there are so many feral and semi-feral cats wandering the streets of our neighborhoods, KATMOM decided to help take care of those animals. In the few years KATMOM has been in existence, we have successfully trapped, neutered and returned many animals back to their colonies, preventing thousands of unwanted litters of kittens. As KATMOM has grown, we now rescue abandoned, abused, and homeless cats and kittens.

If we are to accomplish more this year we will need more help from all of you. All KATMOMs animals are tested, vaccinated, wormed, spayed/neutered, and micro-chipped before being placed in loving homes. KATMOM is operated entirely by volunteers and has no paid employees. Our major source of funding is monetary donations from people like you. Other funding is obtained through adoption fees. You can help us by Spaying/neutering your pets. Donations can also be made through adoption events and by contacting us through e-mail. Please contact us at info@katmom.com for more information on how you can donate.
Thanks for your support!

Dogdad grew out of Katmom's rescue efforts. We began rescuing small dogs and puppies when we would go and rescue cats and kittens on location. Since Dogdad's inception, we have networked with Animal Control offices up and down the State of California saving many dogs from the fate of the state system.

BY THE NUMBERS
