Pepe may well be the smartest dog around. He is about 6 years old, full of curiosity and he wants to please. He is good with dogs, loves to go running and is an excellent companion. But wait till you see him cut loose, he is happy on 4 legs! We think he is a Rat Terrier mix and when he runs, his natural athleticism really comes through.
Gillian Lange, President and Founder of The Lange Foundation, has been rescuing dogs and cats for more than 30 years. She has been a dedicated advocate for animals her entire life. She opened the Lange Foundation based on her belief that every home should have a dog or a cat.
It is our primary mission to rescue animals from the city shelters and help find them good homes. We provide medical care when needed, training if appropriate and a safe comfortable environment until they find their forever homes. We also provide access to educational programs for new pet owners, as well as spaying and neutering programs.
At the Lange Foundation, we make a life long commitment to every animal we take into our care. If the owner dies or is too sick to care for her companion, that dog or cat will always have a home with us.
We serve the city of Los Angeles and all of Los Angeles county. Our kennel houses about 40 dogs and 100 cats on any given day. We are open to the public 365 days a year. Our hours are 11:00am-5:00pm 7 Days a week.
Adopting a friend
The Lange Foundation requires possible adopters to complete an adoption application form. Based on that information, we decide if the home and the pet are compatible before we proceed with the adoption.
We conduct home checks for anyone adopting a dog.
If all the above is complete and approved, we fill out the contract with the adopter. :)
Our fees vary, depending on the age of the pet. Please call us for more information about our adoption fees.
All of our cats and dogs are microchiped, spayed/neutered and up to date on all shots before they are adopted.
