Who We Are

Dog Adoption & Welfare Group A NO-KILL shelter...an idea whose time has come! Our Mission Statement: DAWG volunteers are committed to providing loving high quality care to lost and abandoned dogs while actively seeking appropriate, permanent homes for each of them. Most dogs are adopted within 3 weeks. Since DAWG's inception in 1991, we have worked hard to bring out the best in our dogs and improve the quality of life for them during their stay at the shelter. In order to place healthy, clean, well-behaved dogs back in our community, we are continually expanding our shelter's facility. Most of the dogs in our care come from the county shelter. DAWG's goal is to reduce the rate of euthanasia in the county's shelter by providing the medical care and training many dogs need for a second chance at life.

Adopting a friend

All of our dogs are on flea/tick/mosquito protection, are spayed/neutered, have all current shots, and a HomeAgain microchip. We ask for a minimum adoption donation of $250 for puppies(under one year), $150 for adult dogs, and $125 for seniors (dogs over 8 years old) when you pick up your new dog.

For more information on our available dogs, call (805) 681-0561, email: adopt@sbdawg.org or come by during open adoption hours, Friday through Sunday, 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
