Goldie is a 3 1/2 year old Chespeak Bay Retriever. She is a golden yellow color and is simply beautiful. She doesn't think too highly of small children or other dogs, so Goldie is in need of an "only" home. She is waiting patiently for just the right person to come along and fall in love with her. She is a wonderful, loving dog who deserves her second chance! She would be great as a hiking, fishing, camping pal, a cuddling by the fire pal, a walking pal, and in general, a lifelong loyal pal. If you have some room, mostly in your heart, come down to The Humane Society in Jamestown and visit Goldie between the hours of 10am to 2:30pm Monday through Saturday. She would love to meet you.

WHO WE ARE

We are a group of animal volunteers. We share a building with Animal Control and work at placing homeless pets with owners.

Adopting a Friend

It costs $75 dollars to adopt an altered dog. For a un-altered dog the cost is $100 which includes a $40 Spay/Neuter certificate to apply to your altering costs. To adopt an altered cat the cost is $50 of for a kitten the cost is $65, which includes a $40 Spay/Neuter certificate. Our fee always includes a current medical history of your adopted companion. This includes vaccinations, heartworm prevention or any other tests need to insure the continued health of our dogs and cats.

Volunteering and Donations

There are a variety of ways to help. We just opened a brand new Thrift Store, located at 14317 Mono Way in Suite D and E. It is in East Sonora in the old John Sierra Market Shopping CENTER, not in the market itself. We need all kinds of donations for the store from pet supplies, to clothes, to furniture. We are also in need of volunteers who wish to assist the store manager, Roxanne, in retail help. Also, we are collecting old cell phones and ink cartridges because we turn them in for cash. You can sponsor a particular animal while it is in our shelter, help with our fundraisers, sponsor our pet of the week ads in our local paper, The Union Democrat, or even recycle at Cal Sierra and let them know you want your recycling funds to be donated to us. We are funded 100% donations by local people and businesses. We do not receive any outside funding, such as the Humane Society of the United States, or any other public funds. Thus our operating expenses are paid with whatever donations we receive. Anything that you as a caring person and or business can give, no matter how much or what, is appreciated. We are also in need of volunteers! If you can give our animals just a couple of hours a week they will be so grateful. You can help when and where you want. From walking dogs to petting cats or helping at the desk will make a big differance to them. Volunteers are who and how we stay in business. Please call or stop by, the animals would love to meet another person. We also need lots of items, old towels and blankets, cat and dog supplies, cleaning items, and so on. But most of all we need your hands and help!
