Free Spay and Neuter Voucher for Salinas Residents!

Every year about 2,000 dogs and cats are put to sleep at the Salinas Animal Shelter. Many of these animals were the result of unwanted, unplanned litters that could have been prevented by spaying or neutering. To prevent anymore unnecessary euthanizations, the Salinas Animal Shelter is offering free vouchers which is good for $40.00 towards an animal neuter and $50.00 towards an animal Spay. Who We Are

The City of Salinas Animal Shelter is responsible for the collection and shelter of stray and unwanted animals within the city limits. We also have a great adoption program.The Animal Shelter is a great place to get your new pet because we take care of the animals we place for adoption and we help you find a pet that will fit your needs and lifestyle. We want you and your pet to live happily together.

Adopting a friend

To adopt with us, you must:

Be at least 18 years of age
Fill out an adoption form
If renting, show proof of manager's approval of animal residency

Come Visit Us!

We are open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. To get to the shelter, follow Hwy. 68 or Davis Rd. to Hitchcock Rd. There is a large sign by the road. Turn and follow the one lane road about 300 yards until the road curves left. The Salinas Animal Shelter is a white building. Note that as you come to the one lane road you will see large billboard cutouts of a a German Shephard puppy and a kitten cutout next to a animal shelter on your right. That is NOT our shelter; it is the Monterey County animal Shelter. You will find us at the end of the road. MAP
