About FieldHaven

FieldHaven Feline Rescue was established in 2003 to provide a safe haven for rescued cats and kittens while awaiting adoption. FieldHaven is located on a private ranch owned by Preston and Joy Smith in rural Lincoln, providing a backdrop of grassy irrigated horse pastures, climate-controlled barns, gardens and a variety of animal-loving humans always on hand. The result is very well adapted kitties! We’re very small - a rescue "start-up" - but our goals are big; to socialize rescued cats and kittens and find them well-matched homes while promoting the joys of pet ownership. And, of course, we passionately promote spaying and neutering.

About our adoptables and how to adopt

All cats are spayed or neutered and, if necessary, checked by a vet prior to being offered for adoption. Adoptables are socialized with other cats, dogs, kids and even horses! Because we can only accommodate a small number of adoptables at one time we can provide individualized attention to each and every cat and kitten. This allows us to get to know them very well and will help us match you with the perfect feline friend.

To qualify for adoption we will interview you and may ask you for some references such as your vet. We maintain a very open adoption policy in that we encourage you to return your cat or kitten to us if, for any reason, the adoption does not work out.

Our adoption fees are usually around $95.00 and includes spaying/neutering and any veterinary care up until the time they are adopted. We recommend you have your new family member checked out by your own vet soon after adoption.
