Please meet Lullaby, who is a 6-month old petite blind kitten rescued from a local shelter.
Lullaby was found in a storm drain severely underweight, covered with fleas, but most importantly, absolutely unable to provide any food for herself.
Nobody knows how she was able to survive on the streets for so long, being completely blind.
Who cared for her? Who provided her with food? Whatever Lullaby ate wasn't much; she was barely over 3 pounds!
Some people have asked us, " why do you save cats like Lullaby? Wouldn't it be better to kill them to prevent them from suffering?"
The answer is simple: we believe in giving a second chance to as many animals as we financially can!
Blind cats can lead an absolutely normal life and adjust to their disability far better than a person would.
Despite the fact that Lullaby is blind from birth and there is nothing we can do about her blindness, Lullaby still required a corrective surgery on one of her eyes.
She had a malformation of her eye lid: her eyelashes were curling inside her eye opening and irritated her undeveloped eye.
Our wonderful veterinarian masterfully corrected the problem and Lullaby is on her way to recovery.
Lullaby has adjusted very well in her new, safe indoor environment.
She is a real lovebug! She loves people's attention, loves being petted and stroked.
You should see her play with her toys! But mostly Lullaby loves to cuddle with people and loves being talked to. She would cuddle with you for HOURS!!!
Lullaby likes the company of other cats and enjoys playing with them.
She even jumps on her foster mom's shoulders! Not bad for a blind gal, ah?

Welcome to Unconditional Love Animal Rescue and Placement, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing animals from euthanizing shelters and placing them in loving homes! Since our inception, we have rescued and placed over 750 animals, many with special needs. We appreciate the support of both our adopters and donors, who made 2006 a wonderful year for our little ones!
