The TFT was approved by the AKC in 2003 and appeared in the Westminster Dog Show in New York City in February 2004 for the first time. The Toy Fox Terrier is intelligent, alert, very active and friendly. She will become your personal body guard and is completely loyal to her owners. She learns new tasks quickly, is eager to please, and adapts to almost any situation. The Toy Fox Terrier is self-possessed, spirited, determined and not easily intimidated. She will take on the personality of her household. She is a highly animated toy dog that is comical, entertaining, energetic and playful all her life.
What is rescue?
Members of Toy Fox Terrier Rescue engage in saving our favorite breed from overcrowded pounds, kill shelters, puppymills, backyard breeders, straying the streets and any unfavorable situation a tiny terrier might find itself. We also serve as mediums for families in trouble who can no longer care for their Toy Fox Terriers such as senior citizens who find themselves in poor health and unable to continue care for a beloved pet or those adversely affected by our economy and don't want to see their pampered pets become unhealthy and uncared for due to finances. We can't save them all, but we do what we can..

We have members in most all states and a diligent Board of Directors who are constantly fighting for the rights and protection of our beloved breed. We offer a quarterly newsletter to all members which is filled with interesting facts and information pertaining to the TFT, as well as the opportunity to talk with TFT families in a daily chat session. And we have a lot of fun together!
Follow the link above for an adoption application. We have dozens of little ones looking for a loving caring home in our rescue program at any given time. A rescued Toy Fox Terrier may need extra patience and attention at first, but it is a task well worth the reward.
The $150 adoption fee helps off set the cost of spaying and neutering, vaccinations, dental cleaning, health certificates and testing for suspected illnesses. Donations help shore the difference between adoption fees and the costs of other treatments such as heartworm, broken limbs, kennel cough, etc...
If you are considering adopting one of our tiny wonders, acquaint yourself with the breed. Be sure you are suited for a very active, fearless, small dog that is a giant in spirit. It is also an adorable breed: intelligent, devoted, travels easily, requires little grooming. A Toy Fox Terrier is a snuggler, a cuddler, and a truly loving dog who will enrich your life like nothing else.

Rescue warms your soul. All our dogs are fostered in our own homes. We welcome your involvement, be that as a foster, or conducting a home visit, or taking part in a transport, or arranging a fund-raiser or making a donation. As a not-for-profit, we operate on donations. Please consider giving a little bit. It's all about the dogs.
