Who We Are Shasta County Animal Shelter has been in existence at the same location for over 50 years. We provide Animal Care and Shelter Services for the unincorporated area of Shasta County, California. We are a small shelter dedicated to the placement of select individuals into loving, responsible homes. Did you know that during the last five years, Shasta County Sheriff Animal Services has spent $108,246 towards the spaying and neutering of animals in our jurisdiction! Help prevent littering; help us to continue working on reducing our stray animal populations. Kitty and Puppy Season is here!!! Now is the time to come in and get spay/ neuter vouchers for your animals. Reminder that June is "ADOPT-A-KITTY MONTH" Please come in and adopt a cat or kitten as a new member of the family. We have many to choose from: all the colors of the rainbow and all different ages. A spay/ neuter voucher and free veterinarian health exam is included with each adoption to help defray costs. Please come visit us for assistance with altering your pet or to adopt your next friend for life.

Adopting a friend

To adopt your "Friend for Life" simply come to our shelter and browse. We have a varied selection of both purebred and mixed breed individuals that are begging for attention and a loving home. Our selection varies daily, so that if you don't see that special individual that tugs at your heart. Not to worry, we can place you on our Desired List for future notification. After selecting your "Friend", there is a $20 shelter fee, Vaccination fee of $5 each, and if the animal is unaltered, you make arrangements at a local Vet for it to be altered. We would deliver the animal to the chosen Vet, you pay, and pick up the animal directly from the Vet after altering. For more details or any questions, please feel free to contact us. Our goal is a loving, responsible home for all.

Remember June is Adopt A Kitty Month
