Our web site is www.cockatielrescue.org. It contains many useful helps, tips and links along with a lost and found page containing many more lost birds.
Who We Are
We are Cockatiel Rescue now in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We accept Cockatiels from people and shelters who are unable, or unwilling to provide long term care and maintenance. We advertise in the local newspaper, send out flyers and place "Lost/Found" flyers in the local pet stores, animal feed stores, Veterinary hospitals in northern California and New Mexico and on our web site at www.cockatielrescue.org. We provide a safe and healthy atmosphere while we try and local the owners of lost birds, or recondition found tiels. We have limited boarding facilities and encourage adoption of our foundlings (see "Adopting a Friend" below). Normally we charge no fee for returning home a lost Cockatiel.
Adopting a friend
We hold all foundlings placed into our care for a minimum 45-day period in quarantine while we try to locate their lost home. Following the quarantine period, if we have not received any response claiming to have lost the bird, we will allow a family that will provide a safe and loving home to adopt the bird. An adoption visit by the family and completion of an adoption form is required prior to our approval to adopt. Please call (505) 899-5979 if you desire more information. Normally we charge a minimal fee for adoption to help defer medical exam costs. We do not ship, if you wish to see our foundlings, you will need to visit our location.

If your timing and description of the Cockatiel are correct, we will be very happy to see the bird is reunited with you.
