Who is caring for your Best Friend?
Every animal owner needs to set up an animal care program so that they can be assured that their pet, be it a dog, cat, horse, goat, lizard, snake, bird or whatever, will have proper care when they are no longer able to care for them. Animal Safe Haven offers resources to help you.
When you sign up for a Safe Haven Guardian plan, you will be assured that your best friend(s) will never be abused, sent to a pound or arbitrarily euthanized. The Safe Haven Guardian plan shows you how to set up a pet care trust and how to fund it. We can work with your estate planner or attorney to make sure that your Will/Trust reflects YOUR wishes concerning your animals. We also make sure that your pet is chipped with a Safe Haven Guardian ID, registered with a national location service and may wear tags. The Foundation would be contacted if anything should happen to you. The Safe Haven Guardian Plan is FREE. The Foundation funds the ID Chip implant ( a $60 value) and only requests that the Animal Safe Haven Foundation is named as Guardian in your Will/Trust. In the case of your death or disability the Foundation would take over the care of your animals per YOUR instructions.
When animals come to us we have a network of "sanctuaries" made up of licensed animal care facilities and foster homes to care for animals in need of shelter. We accept all types of animals under the Guardianship program and will provide the proper care they deserve. Our goal is to relocate most of our animals with new families that meet the rigid requirements of the Foundation. Some animals will need to remain in the Foundationís Home Style Shelters and will be cared for until they pass. The Foundation will always be there as a safety net.
Dogs have kennel and in-home boarding facilities. We are particularly proud of our Cat Lodge with indoor and outdoor play areas. Big Birds have the Jungle Flight Sanctuary to live out their lives in, if they cannot be relocated. Horses and other farm related animals have pastures and barns available. Reptiles are housed indoors in their own habitats.
The Senior Foster Program combines Senior Citizens with animals under our care to provide a loving home and companionship. The Foundation provides assistance for veterinary care, grooming and food. We rely on public donations and donations from owners of incoming animals and charge a modest relocation adoption fee. All donations go toward the care of the animals and any excess is used to provide low cost spay/neuter vouchers and educational programs.
