We are having a Holiday Special on all dog and cat adoptions. All dogs and cats that come into the shelter already sterilized are only a $10 adoption fee. All other dogs are $70 and cats are $50. This includes a microchip, spay/neuter, and rabies vaccination. A $10 license fee also applies to dogs that live in the county. And each adopter is given a bag of Science Diet dog or cat food and a coupon booklet. All cats are given a cardboard carrier to go home in. Animals are available for adoption from 10 am - 4:30 pm Monday through Saturday at our shelter. Cats are available at Petsmart in Visalia during store hours and every Saturday we have a special off-site adoption site with dogs and cats available for adoption. Call or email for more details.

In order to adopt a pet from Tulare County Animal Control you must first fill out an adoption application. This is to let us know all about you and your pets that you may already have. By doing so, we can make sure that the right pet is placed into your family. After an application has been filled out and you have selected your pet, you will be asked to sign an adoption contract. This contract states that you are willing to care for your new pet and abide by the animal laws. You will also be asked to pay an adoption fee, a spay/neuter deposit and a licensing fee. All this may sound like a lot but it is all a part of the wonderful relationship you will build with your new pet.
Tulare County Animal Control is located just off of Lovers Lane on Ave 256 in Visalia. We are open Monday through Saturday from 10 in the morning until 5 in the evening. Come by and see all of the wonderful animals we have available for adoption.
