Our Featured Pets...

We have wonderful cats available for adoption. All have been spayed/neutered, tested for FeLV/FIV (in most cases, twice, just to ensure you are adopting a healthy pet), and are current on vaccinations. Most have been raised around dogs and other cats.

News & Activities...

YARD SALES! We need YOUR saleable "stuff"! PURRR is always looking for donations of saleable items for our yard sales! If you don't feel up to having a yard sale of your own, but have some goodies to donate and would like to help the kitties, give us a call or e-mail us! We can't take real heavy furniture, but we have an empty van that will hold tons of goodies and we keep everything in a storage unit we accumulate enough 'stuff' for a good-sized yard sale!
RECYCLE your CELL PHONES & Computer Cartridges! Your old cell phones and used computer cartridges (most, but NOT Epson) can help the cats! Please e-mail us and we can send you either postage-paid envelopes or make other arrangements to gather these items. This has been a great program to help us raise much-needed funds. We hope you can help too!
CATNIP Bags! 4" square fabric filled with 100% catnip, made and entirely donated by a volunteer, so 100% of your purchase will help us to keep on helping more cats. If you're interested in purchasing a few (3/$10 or $4 each - includes shipping), send us an e-mail to place an order. We receive incredible letters from those who have purchased our bags telling us how much their cats love them - even cats who've never shown an interest in catnip before! Catnip mats and other items are available for sale as well. 100% of all purchases goes toward our programs.

Who We Are...

At the present time, PURRR does not have its own shelter facility, but is certainly working towards that goal. In the meantime, we rely on many foster homes here in California (both in Northern and Southern California) to help care for the cats we take in prior to finding them a permanent home. PURRR provides for medical care and other needs for cats in its foster homes. PURRR also networks with other organizations such as "Project Purr" in Santa Cruz, CA, as well as All Creatures Sanctuary in MO, by assisting with their medical needs. PURRR is committed to 1) assisting cats with special needs (elderly, FIV+, FeLV+, orphaned, feral, etc.) and 2) to ensuring donations are only used for the direct care and maintenance of the animals. PURRR fulfills its commitments by making payments direct to the veterinarians providing services. Donations are NEVER used for any administrative costs. Our volunteers pay for printing our newsletter, postage, and other miscellaneous supplies, as well as for food and litter for cats in our foster home network. Your donations pay for medical costs, i.e., spay/neuter, medications, examinations, other surgeries and medical needs, prescription foods, etc.

BE A PAL (Prevent A Litter) - SPAY/NEUTER!...

PLEASE, spaying/neutering is one of the most important things we can do to help stop the tremendous problem of pet overpopulation. It leads to million of animals being euthanized each year. If you need assistance for spaying/neutering a cat, whether stray or feral, please contact us for help.

Adopting a cat...

You can view our cats in their current foster homes or we can make arrangements to bring the kitty to your home. Anyone interested in adopting a particular cat fills out an application. Potential adopters are interviewed by our foster caregivers and a recommendation is made for the adoption. Adoption fee: $75 and, at the minimum, includes spay/neuter, FVRCP vaccine, FeLV/FIV testing (FIV cannot be done until 4-months old).

Sponsor a kitty...

You may also "sponsor" one of our special needs cats while it remains in a foster home by becoming its "Purrrfect Friend." Some of our special needs cats (elderly cats or those who are FeLV+/FIV+, diabetic, etc.) may often reside in our foster homes for a long time, if not permanently (no one is ever euthanized - they remain in our foster homes until they are adopted). Your contribution of $15/month will help to defray the costs for these special needs cats. In return, we will provide you with a picture of your "Purrrfect Friend" and you will receive updates on how they are doing. You will be notified immediately if your new 'friend' is adopted. PURRR also operates its "Purrrfect Friend" program for the special needs cats who reside in Northern California through our Project Purr alliance, as well as for those at All Creatures Sanctuary in MO. Please contact us for further information on this program.

"Love is all you need" - Senior foster program...

We are always in need of more foster homes for our cats. If you are a senior (or know one) who would love to enjoy the companionship of a cat in your home (and lap), but are concerned about potential costs for medical care, etc., this program may work for you. If you are able to provide a loving home for one of our cats, and if you live within Orange County, PURRR will provide for all costs for medical care for your cat AND, in addition, we will pay for all food and litter ordered through Pet Pantry, a local delivery company. It couldn't be easier to enjoy the love and companionship of a cat in your home! Please contact us for more information.
