Golden Gate Basset Rescue
GGBR is a foster based rescue, meaning we don't have a kennel location to visit. If you see a hound you are interested in, please visit our website at http://ggbassetrescue.org and submit an online application form. We usually carry out home checks so you need to live in northern California. We rarely adopt out of our area, but exceptions can be made, especially for our special needs dogs.
Adopting a friend
Complete an online adoption application on our website (http://ggbassetrescue.org). A volunteer will contact you with more information on the dog you are interested in, or for other dogs that may match your family circumstances. You may need a home check visit, especially if you have never owned or lived with basset hounds before. Arrangements can usually be made for you to meet the chosen hound and to make sure any existing pets in your household will accept him or her into your family. We spay or neuter all our hounds. They are microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and heartworm tested and on flea and heartworm preventative and we expect this level of care to be continued. We are an active rescue and are always there to support you and your adopted hound!
