Cats in Need PO Box 2204 Orange, CA 92859 You can also make donations via Star Donor or PayPal.
Donations can also be dropped off at our shelter located at PetSmart (2140 E. 17th St. Santa Ana) from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm every Sunday. Cats in Need wouldn’t be where it is without the hard work and dedication of our volunteers. Volunteers are the backbone of our organization and they are always needed. We need people to help socialize with our cats, clean cages, replenish food and water, bottle-feed kittens, foster cats with special needs, laundry duty, newsletter and fundraising. For more information about becoming a volunteer, please call the Cats in Need Hotline (714) 744-4911 or email at

Little Kit Kat (above) was just 4 weeks old when she was found by the mother of one of our volunteers. Kit Kat weighed less than 2lbs, had an eye infection and was dehydrated. Our volunteer took Kit Kat in and fostered her for 6 months. As you can see from the picture below, Kit Kat is now a healthy, beautiful cat. All of our volunteers take pride in what they do for Cats in Need. Fostering is just one of many wonderful things our volunteers do for our organization. |

Special Needs cats are wonderful and unique pets, but they are in need of special humans who are patient and devoted to taking care of them. Below is a list of most common cat related subjects. Please be sure to check this site often as we will add more information. Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) Feline Infectious Peritonist (FIP) Tips on Taming Feral Cats and Kittens Caring for Feral Cats (pdf file) Older Cats make wonderful companions and there are many benefits to adopting one instead of a kitten. Kittens are cute and adorable, but they are no different than children. They need supervision and they need to be protected. An adult cat can pretty much take care of itself. Also, an older cat has already developed its personality and you’ll know a lot sooner if the cat is a good match for you and your family. Also consider your current lifestyle when choosing to adopt a cat. If you are a busy professional or you travel a lot, a kitten might not be a wise choice. Maui (above) was one of our adorable cats who had special needs. She was very shy and would hide underneath her blanket. Maui and her brother were adopted by a kind lady who can give both cats the love they need. |

Older cats are fun too! Quigley was 7 years old when he came to Cats in Need. He was with us for a few weeks before he was adopted. |

Nitro is a sweet 8 year old kitty cat who has a lot of love to give. She’s not a kitten, but she still likes to play. Cats can live well into their late teens and early 20’s. Click HERE for more information about Nitro. |
